From the Canadian side we see the Niagara Falls in 1979. The Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls have been one of the most spectacular natural spectacles for many decades. Millions of travelers have already come to the Niagara River because of the waterfalls. This film, which we digitized from Kodak Super 8mm material, was probably made by a tourist from Austria who brought the recordings with him to Vienna.
Niagara Falls are waterfalls of the Niagara River on the border between the US state of New York and the Canadian province of Ontario. Niagara Falls is also the name of the sister cities Niagara Falls (USA) and Niagara Falls (Canada), in the center of which the falls are located. The Niagara River connects Lake Erie with Lake Ontario. The American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls are on US territory. The border between the USA and Canada runs through the Horseshoe Falls.
The water of the American Falls falls over an edge of 21 to 34 m high onto a slag pile that was created in a rock fall in 1954. Horseshoe Falls has a free fall height of 57 m. Pedestrians and motorists can cross the border between the USA and Canada via the Rainbow Bridge, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Niagara Falls.

Die Niagarafälle sind Wasserfälle des Niagara-Flusses an der Grenze zwischen dem US-Bundesstaat New York und der kanadischen Provinz Ontario. Niagara Falls ist außerdem der Name der Schwesterstädte Niagara Falls (USA) und Niagara Falls (Kanada), in deren Zentrum sich die Fälle befinden. Der Niagara River verbindet den Eriesee mit dem Ontariosee. Die American Falls und die Bridal Veil Falls liegen auf US-Gebiet. Durch die Horseshoe Falls verläuft die Grenze zwischen USA und Kanada.
Das Wasser der American Falls fällt über eine Kante von 21 bis 34 m Höhe auf eine Sturzhalde, die bei einem Felssturz 1954 entstand. Die Horseshoe Falls haben eine freie Fallhöhe von 57 m. Über die in unmittelbarer Nähe der Niagarafälle gelegene Rainbow Bridge können Fußgänger und Autofahrer die Grenze zwischen den USA und Kanada überqueren.
