And in the middle of it all, the "Brownies", as the employees of the New York traffic control were called because of the color of their uniforms. They regulate traffic with remarkable calm and had their hands full of work to do.
The pictures were mainly taken at Herald Square, a square at the intersection of Broadway, Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) and 34th Street. The main store of the Macy’s department store chain, which is considered the largest department store in the world, is right on the square and can also be seen in this film. This film also provides us with some sequences from Broadway with buildings, cinemas, theaters, passers-by on the sidewalks and traffic.
