The only thing I really don't like about the 2.8 is that it's hard to get parts for em here in the US. I actually finished my 351W swap this summer, so I don't have the 2.8 in it anymore

@@partysodown depends how you search, often if you search vehicle specific its hard but they used them in a lot of cars in the US

I own the '86 3.8 V6 and some parts are hard to find for it

I have a question so I’m 14 I just bought a 83 fox body I don’t have a lot of money to spend but what did u all do to make it sound like that mine is a v6 as well

@Choadgang congrats on your first foxbody! I would say delete the the catalytic converter and then run any open chamber muffler (Flowmaster, magnaflow, thrush, cherry bomb) and use an LX V8 exhaust tip. It will snap and sound snotty. Hope that helps

Also have a giant camshaft and we just need to rebuild the carb and we will be able to driveit btw this my new account

I wanna see a 3.8 or 4.0 swap on one of these with turbo

I would have loved to put the 3.7V6 or another V6 and try to make some power, but instead I went the 351w route. Actually, the swap just got finished up this week, so I'll have another exhaust video up pretty soon.

What did you do for it to pop like that

I didn't have to do anything. I'd guess something in the carburetor tune was off, but between the carb adjustments and checking the timing it always would backfire. The crackles only happened after the muffler delete, but the car always had an issue with backfiring.

What exhaust system you running ?

It's the stock mustang exhaust, but the catalytic converter has been hollowed out and the muffler was removed with a length of pipe. I'm not sure what the diameter was.

Is that the Cologne V6 with 3 exhaust ports?

Yes, the US version of these engines has the 3 separate exhaust ports. The Euro versions had the siamesed ports, which I believe was so they could use the Cologne V4 exhaust manifolds interchangeably.

@@partysodown Over here Ford Europe did a 2.9 Cologne V6 with the more conventional 3 exhaust ports. Makes me wonder if you can put the US 2.8 V6 heads on a European one.
