1979 Dodge Crew Cab, Work progress! First Drive! Exhaust, Wheels & Tires, Bumper straightening, etc.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Work progress on the '79 D200 Crew Cab.
The 2000s Chevy wheels and old tires had to go! Decided to go with 16" steel wheels for ease of tire availability. Found some factory MoPar steel wheels off a 1990s Dodge Church van. Painted them the correct off white and then found some new tires for them! See the video for a good source of brand new name brand 16s!
I added a new muffler and tailpipe as the original muffler was blown up and the tailpipe missing a section. While the exhaust system was removed, I installed a new fuel tank selector valve and hoses.
I also straighten the rear bumper using a come-a-long.
I then take the truck on its first real drive and put the truck to work on the test run by getting some plants and mulch for some landscaping.

I saw a father and son in my neighborhood working on a similar truck to this one. These crew cabs are quite rare, it’s cool that you found one in such great shape 👍

I really do like the longer videos I'm disabled and I stay home and I watch a lot of TV and and a lot of KZread and I do like the long ones an hour or two hours I'm good with them...

Thanks for replying. Sometimes footage can easily be several hours long. Some things like tightening a bunch of bolts I normally speed up or cut out as it’s nothing special. Didn’t know if people actually preferred seeing everything real time even if it makes it much longer.

I’ll add to the liking of the longer videos, I often put on a playlist of yours and fall asleep to them here in Sunny Scotland.

@@scottyg7284 I’ll keep that in mind. I guess if folks want shorter viewing times they can skip parts of the video. I add chapters within each video to make going to each part easier.

you work with enough older, pre-muscle mopar stuff that it's usually an educational experience no matter how long the video is. But when was the last time you watched a bad mopar video?

You did a great job on your exhaust, it came out very nice but I've always found it to be best to use some exhaust paste around any joints that come together. Guaranteed seal

Also, the Sprinter Van rims would not look too bad on one of these trucks if you were to paint them white

How many cars have you got or are you always buying and selling them because you have a nice collection if you have kept all the cars. Anyway love your videos and cars being a big Mopar guy myself I have been meaning to take video of my collection but always forget and I am not very video savvy so I gotta wait till the kids are over to help me out and me having to remember to do it LOL!
