  • @Cammi_Rosalie

I know a guy who had an 80 Camaro. Dude took years to get it all fixed up. It was his baby. Cammed 350, 5-speed, chromed everything that could be chromed, nice paint, Immaculate interior, the works! It was really nice and scary powerful. This car was gorgeous! Car-show material! Ran like a champ and sounded soo good. A 2nd Gen Camaro-lovers wet dream.. But... * loud sigh * He gave it to his son who mercilessly beat the hell out of it. Chopped up the dash to put in a DVD stereo, sawed holes in the interior to install more speakers and sub-woofers, for his (c)rap "music". He plastered it with cheap, stick-on stripes, and "No Fear!" stickers etc, with skulls and shit like that. He chopped a hole in the roof to put in some cheap leaky sunroof he got out of a truck in a junkyard. The kid just ruined the car. Whooped it on gravel roads, sliding and doing donuts. Less than 6 months after this kid got the car, it had dents and scrapes, the interior was trashed and filthy. Stained with spilled Mountain Dew. It stunk of mildew from the leaky sunroof, and of moldy french-fries and half-eaten burgers tossed into the floor, and of the well used, meth-head/crack-whore chicks he banged. The engine smoked and knocked. This kid pissed me off so bad that I stopped going anywhere near him. 12 years of work, love, blood, tears and time, to get that Camaro to be the beauty it was, and some punk destroys it in 2 years. Freaking... Tragic! Last time I saw the car it was beaten to hell, stripped out, had a mis-matched drivers door, and sitting in the mud at a junk-yard 2 years after he got it. Lesson to be learned: Don't give your douchebag, male-slut, punk kid a nice car, when the the only thing he ever cared about was a tv game system. Dude, if by some strange chance you're reading this, (you know who you are) I shoulda' slapped the dog piss outa' you, and your dad should have stuck his foot down your throat. At least you are no longer desecrating a classic, and now you drive a car that you honestly deserve to drive... A rusted out and battered, heap of a Dodge Neon with the "Trash Dumpster" interior. It's basically Adam Sandlers' "P.O.S. Car" with the clear plastic duct-taped over the busted side window. .. You moron.

Oh the days! My older bro busted his ass to buy one of these. He was just 20 yrs old.He left his keys at the house while he went to watch a race at Talladega with his buds.Me at 16 seen his keys, and that shiny z28 in our driveway.I snatched them keys and fired that thing up.I went to every friend and girlfriend's house I knew.I had that z28 packed with 6 ppl in no time.I took it to the main strip in town with the t-tops out.I was the king for a moment.I nailed it coming out of a gas station and bounced into the median messing up the ground affects.I knew I fked up.I took everyone home and parked his car. When he got home I got my ass beat up bad.He was a former boxer too.So I both love and hate this z28 video.

Yes this is in the UK Rob, we are based in North Yorkshire! And from memory we sold the car for around £13,000 I think. No it wasn't a full resto but it looked superb and drove even better than it looked!

Those old carbureted engines in their stock form can’t compete with today’s technology, a 4 cylinder civic type R would smoke that Camaro in any race but what makes these cars so special is that beautiful classic small block sound, the small of exhaust and gas on the inside, and the overall atmosphere of driving one and you are guaranteed to have a smile on your face :D

You can always reinstall one in a new modern car no? I don’t know much about cars but I’m pretty sure that clicking is based on a switch that activates a relay. Essentially, that clicking noise is a relay clicking open and close based on the switch.

That’s the same steering wheel design I had in my 1986 Cavalier when I was in college. Also if I remember correctly, the rims of that era Z28 were used again on the 86-88 Monte Carlo SS.

Actually, the 79 z had steel rims. The rims you're thinking about were only on the 81 z and they are 14 inch the later Monty's had 15 inch

  • @05gtdriver

@ henry computer The '80-'81 Z-28 had 15" N90 wheels as optional(these are the wheels Raider19er is referring to). Base '80-'81 Camaros(non-Z-28 models) offered a 14" version of the N90 wheel but are extremely rare. Later '86-'88 Monte Carlo SS wheels are different in the offset, back spacing and the wheel lip, so while they look similar, they are very different.
