I had one of those! I used to get the story book with the little record in the flap in the back. I used to listen to little red riding hood and this lady in the beginning told you to turn the page when the chime rang. I loved it. I had about 10 or 15 record books and those were my bedtime stories.

I had one of those when I was younger. the plastic looks darker than I remember but that was way back. I wanted a walkman but I got this instead but I think I ended up liking this more. I remember listening to a soundtrack from jungle book. That memory was not remembered til I saw this video. Thanks for the flash back of my childhood, I needed a good memory today. :)

I realized it was on Deustche Grammophon.

I love this rather colourful little player. I think the orange tonearm goes well with the brown and beige, and the little bits of red finishes it off quite well. Very old skool. But these Fisher Price players were more than just kids toys, they were actually rather good sounding record players. In terms of sound quality, it would beat a Crosley hands down, but as far as I can remember I think these were actually produced by sony.

I found one of these when I was at work. I should have asked the person who owned it if they would sell it to me. I wanted it soo bad.

I had a Fisher Price record player back in 1985, it was a bit more fancy than this and had a stereo speaker add on but it still had the Fisher Price name.

@spearmintmonkey no that is the rewind button so you can rewind the record.

I used to have a record player similar to this when I was a little kid. Mine was from the late 80's to early 90's. If I remember correctly, these Fisher-Price record players were made by Sony.

I had this as a kid myself, I'm 38 now :o

Yeah,I recently picked up a Nakamichi cassette deck needing a couple repairs,and also a Nakamichi CD player that's fine,both under $50. Thrift stores can have some good stuff if you look around,and that deal on the Levi's jacket sounds nice,congrats!

Actually, it's because I'm now studying full-time in a pretty intensive science program. I still have my games, but haven't had the time to go thrifting. Good guess though.

@spearmintmonkey hehe, you mean like a crossfader? It's a kid's toy, not a DJ device ;D But seriously it's a RPM controller (e.g. speed of the record, which also alters the pitch). I know this because I'm a DJ although I don't use vinyl. :P

I can't believe there are no pops whatsoever. The record and needle must be new.

Zro Dfects it’s a Fisher Price record player, it’s pretty cool though.

I was born in 1978 I had this record player in the 1980s same one with the orange turntable and tone arm much better than a crosley

you should not change the speed when you are playing a record you can rune it by doing that 33/3 records go on 33/3 rpm 45 goes on 45 78 goes on 78 16 goes on 16.just giving you good tips.i know alot about record players and old stuff.

You can't ruin a record by playing it at the wrong speed. That's just a myth.

Yeah i just don't find the music as my cup of tea. But that does'nt mean i got bad taste
