    Picked up a red Bronco in the early 80s for next to nothing, like $75 or something. My old roommate played it in his band (I had his Tele) and got so pissed that it wouldn't stay in tune that he smashed it into several pieces at a gig one night, had the band sign it, and it still to this day hangs on his wall.

    The Bronco was sold as a beginner package and came with a Bronco amp. I had one of the Bronco amps, wish I still had it. The Bronco amp was a SF Vibro Champ but instead of saying Vibro Champ it had Bronco printed in red.

    I got this exact guitar 30 years ago from a pawn shop for $165. Converted it to a 12 string a few years later and played it in my college band for years.

    As far as I know Alex gave his bronco to Alexandra Saviour. I didn’t read anything about the Alex’s stolen bronco.

    That was a Musicmaster he gave away, the Bronco seems to have been stolen midway through July 2011.

    @@GulerEmre146as the other mentioned, the bronco was stolen back in 2011, and the one he gave to Alexandra, was a musicmaster. The thing is that he bought that musicmaster and tried to modded it to a bronco, but had problems with the electronics so he never used it again.

    @@lalolanda0114It’s always puzzled me why Alex bothered to get a Musicmaster, it would’ve been pretty easy for his tech to source him another Bronco. It’s probably my dream guitar but there’s never any for sale in the UK.

    I'm 59 years old and started playing in 1976. In the late 70's and early 80's, Broncos and Mustangs could be purchased used for $200 bucks all day long

  • @rosskleinmann2626

    @rosskleinmann2626

    That $200 in 1978 is $941.87 in 2023 due to inflation. It's weird to think about all things I could of bought back then, because I was broke then as I am now lol. If you want sticker shock go buy a sandwich from subway. Just outrageous what they charge for those things and they don't even have the COLD CUT COMBO ANYMORE!!!!!

    I was just using an inflation calculator and ripping on subways awful food. sure you can buy a guitar from china for under $200 but you cant buy a fender for that, so what you did was create a strawman to beat up.@@terryenglish7132

    I have the same year 1978 Bronco. I've installed a SD JB little 59 in it. I kept the original PU in the case, never get rid of original parts, you'll always be sorry later. I use the guitar for slide so I've raised the action just enough to play slide without fret noise but plays great normally as well. I also installed a bone nut. Basically it sound like a brassy Les Paul junior. The thing screams. I love student models they just have that mojo vibe. Los Angeles

    Very cool, I have a '69 that in some point in it's life, was repainted to robin egg blue and had the F stamped tuners replaced. Your example is missing the orig neck plate which would have the guitars unique serial number on it.

    It does look it but it's supposed to be something. Other than nitro but fender was doing weird experimenting with finishes in the 70s , I have a music master bass from the era and it's black but has a weird green hue sometimes and if you play it a long time and sweat on it the finish kinda gets bluish and soft under your arm , my dad had the same bass in the late 70s early 80s and they left in a car trunk overnight in freezing weather and the finish cracked and peeled up in pieces with a smokey looking film over the black but would turn blue when you played it like a mood ring lol , so I've often wondered if they were mixing poly and nitro in the 70s to make some weird chemically unstable
