Wow! Reminds me of when, as a kid, I went with my dad to the Nats at Glenview NAS in the 60s/early 70s. He wasn't good enough actually to compete, but enjoyed getting inspired by those who were. It was mostly young men and their kids in those days. How times have changed. Thanks for the memories.

Who exactly was Lanny Shorts I wonder. Whomever, Lanny shot a lot of film and really covered it. Really cool.

Lanny was one of the directors for several years. He and the other CD Arlie Preszler came up with many of the changes to the nationals that are still in effect today. And he liked to shoot movies.

I have the 1975 Nats, and a WAM contest from about 72 or 73. That's it.

@@deadpoetclan4652 If you get around to editing and posting the 75 Nats, that would be great. I went to the 75 Nats with Arlie and your dad in the brown van. Drove that thing a bunch of miles across AZ, NM and TX. I was probably at that WAM contest also. I didn't fly stunt so probably not in the videos.
