1977 Range Rover Classic 2 Door : Part 1 Taking Gertrude Home

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Picked up a new project, a 1977 Range Rover Classic 2 door. This will be the project for the next few years, so I hope to record the progress over time. This is the Part 1 - bringing the Rover home.
Note: My videos are not a tutorial/how to. I am not a qualified mechanic so please refer to your workshop manual with your work. Do not use the content on my channel as a replacement for a workshop manual or mechanic.

Just waiting for my 1991 RRC 2doors to arrive to Dubai from Spain, doing a whole restoration project, with fully built suspension and LS3 6.2V8 swap! Im definitely watching the whole videos on this project good luck 👍

Thanks. Sounds like you got yourself a beast! For me, theres always another project that needs doing first, so the RRC project will take longer than I would like.

Unfortunately there was too much rust in the sills area. So I stopped this project and completed a Series 2a build.

Awesome stuff! If I dug a hole under my pair of A-Suffix 1972 Range Rover projects and through the earths core I would probably end up in your back yard! Envious of the lack of rust. Check my video of Red shed. That is an early 1972 a-suffix that was modified in the 1980s

+Malcolm Robertson I hope not lol... but I wont go full on reno for that reason. I have done similar projects in the past and have re-used old parts in better condition.

I love classic 2 door RR's and own 2, a 78 and 81, but I wonder why bother with this one? I mean you can buy one that drives and is about ten times better in every way than this wreck, I don't want to sound mean - but seriously, buy a half decent one and save thousands of dollars and untold hours of work...

You are pretty much spot on mate, and this was one of the factors why I decided to stop the project and kick start a Series 2a project as its much easier to work on and parts are much more readily available compared to the RRC.

Hello sounds like a good decision. Do you still have the 2 door? I need a couple of parts.

this guy gets a third of the way through the restoration then wants to do something else so sells it off for parts, what a waste

The guy i sold it to pulled it apart and told me the rust was worse than it looked, so best to part out. This is from a guy that has a handful of them. Yes sad to let it go but best decision in the long run. Thanks for the post. Cheers,
