1977 Bucs. What a team. Loved that team almost as much as the ‘79 Series champs.

This includes part of the telecast from 9/12/1977 @ 48:03. Special because, I believe, It is the ONLY time the Pirates wore this uniform combination out of the 72 possible variations.Gold cap, Gold Jersey, Gold pants. History and minutia in one glorious 13 minute segment.

At first I thought 72? That can't possibly be! However, when one includes undershirts and stirrups, yes it is 72!

@@cg3771 Lucky you! I wanted so bad to be able to play on a "Pirates" Little League team. I got 'stuck' on the Tigers twice, Cubs, and Dodgers. So happy to get an official Black uniform for Christmas 1978, to go with my replica Black and Yellow Pirates' uniform tops. I was thrilled to travel to Pittsburgh for my birthday in 1980 to see 'our Champions' and go to Kaufman's and get the 'new' white home replica top. Sadly, I have never seen a re-creation of the pinstripe tops then or now....The ones made have TOO many stripes and look no where close to the actual 1977-1979 Jerseys. Also, it is impossible to get a true "pillbox' hat. The New Era ones the Bucs have worn recently are sloped in the front. Bring 'em back for purchase!

@Astrogoth27 I appreciate it. Thank you very much. The 1977-1979 Pinstripe Tops had 9 vertical pinstripes. The Mitchell and Ness ones I see there have as many as 15!. Probably due to the Japanese based company who originally designed them. Manufactured by Descente, pre -Rawlings issued ones in other seasons. I do not think that material/pattern was ever mas produced. Even "custom" ones ridiculously have even more "Bumble Bee" pinstripes!

If ur Hrabosky ur kinda between a rock and a hard place. u don’t want a confrontation with Stargell or Parker, and u don’t want Goose throwing at ur guys the next inning.
