My parents both worked at Pontiac Motors in 1976 and they gave my father a fully loaded burgundy ‘76 Grand Prix to drive for a week. I remember that car so clearly. What I wouldn’t give to have one today!

My Dad working at the St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada General Motors Plant 1964 to 1993 had the 1976 Black LJ one of these from the Autumn 1975 to the Spring 1990. Drove it through 43 States, 5 Provinces and in Mexico near the United States Border at Tijuana-San Diego, area on Spring Vacation in 1976.

My father had one exactly like this. Was his 'treasure' for more than 30 years. He passed away in 2014. (Nostalgia here). I reached Out for this video so my 7 year old son ( who likes antique Cars) can watch it. 🍂🌾 Thanks for sharing.

My mom had one of thses brand new. She worked as a nurse for a rich lady in Bel-Air who told her to go to the dealer and buy a car. She picked one just like this one off the showroom floor. Cost over $6K at the time in 1976. Same color but with red interior !!!!

Incredible! The fact that the doors don't sag is remarkable! I had a 1977 Grand Prix in 1990, and the doors sagged on it back then. I recall buying it in January of 1990 for $750 cash and the Pontiac had approximately 77,000 miles on a 301 V8 (2bbl). It was triple black with rally II rims (though they were rusty and had lost all 4 center caps and trim rings). Ended up sending it to the scrap yard in 1991 after the transmission died and the rear bumper fell off. I pulled the engine and put it in my 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix (which was in much better shape, albeit with a blown 231 V-6 Buick engine). My 1977 GP was in rough shape for being only 13 years old at that time. This 1976 that you have here is going on the better part of half a century and looks new.

@@duayneveer8229 it was called radial turned suspension because of the fact that the vehicle came with radial tires from the factory, around that time alot of cars came with bias ply tires .

I had one like this in the 1980s with firethorn interior and top 400 four barrel, 400 trans but mine was a 77. It wasn't as nice as this even in the 1980s. This thing is beautiful.

Those side Moldings hold water and create rust that is why they have disappeared on most vehicles .. but this car is very clean .. excellent condition .. the wiper slide delay switch was funky and problematic .. many GMs had Real Main Seal Leaks .. but they drove and handled well ! Loved the Pontiac Rims with Center Caps !

Thank you ! Sitting in the driver's seat with the way the dash wraps around you was my favorite ,,and the back window coming to a point in the middle. The curves. Duel exhaust big. Block engine wide and heavy car. All the toys. Just gorgeous car got very attached to mine. Brokenhearted want one. Need someone to pay it forward and give me one as a lovely loving gift. I'd feel like I died and went to heaven. There's nothing not to like about the early 70's models.
