I drove the non-custom version of this with the 350 in it for about 3.5 years. It was my parent's car but they essentially gave it to me to drive in HS and later sell to buy my first car. It was still reasonably fast -- I could keep up or beat V8 Camaros and TransAms even though only rated at 160HP. Never knew that it had an option with a 454. I got maybe 10-12 MPG; I can't imagine what kind of crappy mileage this thing got! Mine had a vinyl roof that with a maroon paint job actually looked OK. As far as "grandma car," well, yeah, sort of. You COULD, with some mag wheels, make it look OK -- even good, but probably not as slick as others. I never heard it called that and those that might have couldn't outrun me. They certainly couldn't outrun this! I had mine up to 120 on I-35 once and that was nothing. It could have done 150 easy, though on flat terrain with an experienced driver.

That car is dope. I've got a triple black '76 I bought in Tacoma. Going back to stock. Took the 13s off it and going landau hubcaps and stock whitewalls. This car has a Caprice grille in it. Someone switched it out at one time.

I had a 74 Caprice with a 454 it was a dog , 0- 75 mph about 12 seconds.

Needs the original Impala grille with the gold Chevy bowtie in the center and factory original dual exhausts, a tailpipe on both left and right rear corners! Also needs red 454 badges on the front fenders and a factory AM/FM Stereo 8-Track Tape Cartridge Player in it! NEEDS DUAL BODY COLOUR SPORT MIRRORS ALSO FOR A NICE FINISHING TOUCH! ALSO HAS THE F-41 SPORT SUSPENSION ORDERED ON IT! I WILL TAKE IT!😍
