This is the season that turned me into a lifetime Bills fan

Great Buffalo classic 1970's unis with the striped socks. And, liked tha facemasks of the day. Fullback, Braxton #34, is a monster against the Steelers.

Love 💕 the Bills "Charging" helmets better than the "Standing" ones in 1975!!!

On Nov. 17, 1975 the Bills met the Bengals and QB Ken Anderson, at the top of his game after 4 years in the School of Bill Walsh. Given the chance to develop an offense for the new Bengals, Walsh discovered Kenny and brought him to #1 NFL Passer in all categories--yardage, accuracy, ball-handling, scrambling, TDs. O.J. ran for 200 yards on the night, but it was not enough to defeat he Bengals with Anderson's spectacular (at the time) 450 yd. aerial display. After the game O.J. called Anderson "Superman," and after the season Bengal legend and head coach Paul Brown retired without appointing Walsh as his successor. Bill Walsh--shocked, furious, vengeful and humiliated--left for the W. Coast with his films of Anderson running his offense. First, he taught Dan Fouts how to be the next super aerial artist, and then he received the offer of head coach for the 49ers. We all know who his next Superman would be. It wasn't O.J., whom Walsh traded for (but O.J. no longer had his legs), SoonJoe Montana made up for O.J.

O.J one of the best ever Top 5..His personal life doesn't take away his football accomplishment...He was a.Bad dude.

Best offense of the 70s? Yessir. Joe ferguson had his best nfl season, leading the nfl in td passes, and OJ Simpson had an MVP type season, having career highs in TDs and yards from scrimmage. The bills defense, which Lou saban made tolerable in the past, turned sour that year, unfortunately, and it bit buffalo when it mattered most

Buffalo receiver Bob Chandler (18:27) ultimately played for the Oakland Raiders and helped them to win the Super Bowl in the 1980 season (against Philadelphia). Sadly Chandler passed away from lung cancer in 1995 (although he had never smoked)-his death occurred at the same time as the O.J. Simpson murder trial and on the day of his funeral Judge Lance Ito suspended proceedings so that many in the court room who knew Mr. Chandler could attend

I loved Bob Chandler! He had the surest hands, almost never dropped passes and ran perfect routes. His whole career w/ the Bills people said he wasn't very fast, But Chandler was deceptive. In the Super bowl w/ Oakland he scored running nearly the whole length of the field and he outran one of the fastest corners in the league and the announcers couldn't believe it. he burned the dude! (forget who it was). I met bob Chandler when my little league football coach in Buffalo, who knew him somehow, walked into practice one day and said,"Hey, i got a friend who came to visit you guys today, guess who it is!?" I couldn't believe it was Bob. Ran right up to him and told him he was my favorite player and the best wide out in the NFL! He was super cool! Was real sad to hear he died so young.

I can't believe you went through the trouble to make these videos. This is awesome. I remember watching a few of these games, including the Viking game at season's end.

R.I.P. Mike Kadish. Died this week, aged 72.

I recall watching the Vikings game on TV and 2 things from that-the first being it was a time when the Vikings could play outdoors in the cold (Now they freeze at below 60 degrees). The other along with the large crowd was seeing when crowds actually sat and waited for a play to make them rise up. I do miss those days as I stand with others these days from almost warm ups to games end. It used to be cool watching the sections rise as a good play-run-pass was made.

That was a signature move by the OJ @ 1:33 with that little skip and shake his shoulders and cut on that one leg. He always made that skip before cutting.

hatcher2262 I wouldnt call that a signature. Thats just a halfback cut in general. I played halfback for 5 seasons and i used to do the same exact thing. Problem with it is that it telegraphs the cut so it has to be quick. Not every back can pull it off.

When Namath was on his game, he generated great results - beautiful spirals into tight windows. His balky body betrayed him though over most of his career.

The Bills never defeated the Dolphins in a single game throughout the 1970's---it wasn't until opening day in 1980 when the Bills (coached at that time by Chuck Knox) finally defeated the Dolphins 17-7--the fans at Rich Stadium were so ecstatic that they tore down the goal posts

Never forget that. And the rivalry continues! I went to A Bills vs. Miami game about 6 years ago. I grabbed ticks in the end zone cheap and took my son and we ended up in a section almost 100% Dolphin fans and we could tell they were all Canadians by their accents etc. They were razzing us in our Bills jerseys and were really yakking and gloating in the first half when Dolphins went up 14 to zip. Then start of second half the Bills came out and scored 4 TD's unanswered except for maybe a chip shot Miami field goal and those Canadian Miami fans were as quiet as a mortuary. We were laughing!

Then in the late 80s and early 90s we owned Miami. Couldn't handle the k gun or Kelly. They won 3 games regular season against us through 1995 then lost all but one playoff game to buffalo but that one playoff game was after the k gun was gone and they barely won that one

@Ted Harrington A straight 30 points a game; I doubt the Bills have ever averaged more than that. Goddamned shame about that piss poor defense, though.

@@mm-gl7sz The 1990 Bills scored 428 points; the 1991 Bills scored 458 points. Those are the numbers-in 16 game seasons-and my statement was about the average points per game. I think we remember those great offenses because we've had so few powerful offensive teams to look back on. I believe we're on the way to building a real powerhouse right now!

As a young fan it was so frustrating. They started out 4 - 0 and there was talk they were a Super Bowl contender. They had the horses on offense for sure.

***** OJ Simpson had a great year, they put up the most points in the NFL that year, but were so bad on defense that they finished 8-6. A 17-14 loss to the New York Giants sent them on a spin. And that season was OJ's last chance at playoff glory. The Dolphins had leveled off, the Colts won 9 straight to win the division, and Steve Grogan and the Patriots were come a year later. (THE JETS? Please. Namath grew old.)

Yea, O.J. had a monster year. Not only did he gain over 1,800 yards but broke Gale Sayers TD mark with 23. As good of a year he had in 1975 I thought he was better in 1976 though he gained less yards but the team was horrible, Ferguson was hurt and their backup Gary Marangi was AWFUL. Everyone knew O.J. was getting the ball and he still rushed for over 1,500 yards including 273 against Detroit on Thanksgiving.

The offense's performance of 1975 was a "flash in the pan" type of season. They never ever achieved the success of that season with OJ and Joe Ferguson playing together. Throughout most of his career in Buffalo, whatever success the Bills had offensively was attributed to the success of OJ.

Lol those 3 drop INTs vs NE around the 25 minute mark were horrendous! You couldn’t have it easier they were served up on a platter lol...this defense was pathetic. If they were even just average this team would’ve been super bowl contenders it looks like.

@13:42 the Colts ran the counter-trey that the Redskins of the 80's were using. I remember the analysts and NFL programs going bonkers over how the counter trey is such genius and revolutionary. They over analysed it like a lab frog. Are you kidding Im thinking back then w my mullet. Nobody has tried that stupid double trap play before??? Well I was right Colts 1975 used it and Im sure before that as well. Thankfully we broke Theismann s leg and I felt better.

Marchabroda and Jim Kelly also ran it out if the no huddle when Marchabroda was the bills o coordinator in the early 90s

Tried to do that against Bruce Smith late 80s early to mid 90s didn't work very often. If they stopped Bruce the Hanson or Wright would throw Marino off his game.
