most around the world had Superman, Batman, Spider Man, etc as their favorite super heroes. I had Rose, Foster, Concepcion, Griffey, Morgan, Geranimo, Perez, and Bench as super heroes, and they were real
As a Dodgers fan, I had the pleasure of watching the "Big Red Machine" at Dodger Stadium from '74 to '77. I really admired and respected that truly great team, and the rivalry the Dodgers and Reds had during those years was second to none. My favorite memory was when my dad took me to back to back games against the Reds for my birthday in '76. I can still remember the final scores of those games.
I grew up watching this team. That was a fun time to be a Reds fan!
I’m now 60 and remember ⭐️📺👀 these men were ABSOLUTELY A “Machine “ 💪
These Reds were the BEST all-time. We had Pete, Tony, Joe, Johnny, Dave, George, Cesar, and Ken Sr. We also had The Main Spark, as well as Marty and Joe. Could anyone do any better? Rest in Peace Joe Nuxhall, Joe Morgan, and Sparky Anderson. We miss you.

Blessed to be a kid who grew up in Tampa. Able to lay on top of the dugout and talk with each if these guys as they stood in the on deck circle during Spring training. And in the age of no inter league play, I could go speak with Sandy Koufax or Tom Seaver or Carl Yastremski, all at Al Lopez Field. So many MLB teams did Spring training within an hour's drive. Unforgettable. Dad often took the whole family to watch the Reds. Perfect family memories.

Sorry Lloyd .... the 1961 New York YANKEES : C. Yogi Berra, 1B. Moose Skowron, 2B. BOBBY Richardson, SS. Tony Kubek, 3B. Clete Boyer, LF. Hector Lopez, CF. MICKEY MANTLE, RF. ROGER MARIS. ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️ The Reds were the 3rd best. The 1927 "Murderers Row" NY YANKEES led by Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig , Tony Lazzeri was better too.

@@LordofDublin4 Actually, the 1961 had THREE catchers that hit 20 HRs. Yogi, Elston Howard, who was standout defensively, and Johnny Blanchard. Sometimes Yogi and Blanchard played the OF just to get their bats in the line-up. That team was beastly.

I loved the Big Red Machine! I loved Joe Morgan a class act !
Pete Rose has more hits than anyone in baseball. He is the king of hits. He most definitely deserves to be in the hall of fame Johhny Bench is the greatest catcher ever to play baseball. Two living legends! Where was Sparky Anderson?
What an amazing lineup this team had! I got the impression that Pete Rose got the loudest ovation. To those who may not know, the great eight consisted of Cesar Geronimo, Ken Griffey, George Foster, Tony Perez, Davey Concepcion, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, and Joe Morgan. Arguably the second-most formidable lineup after the '27 Yankees. Thanks for posting.

Every time I see these guys together I cry. Happy tears. What a great time to grow up and have these players making us proud. I still have my Johnny Bench poster on the wall
With that lineup....How did they ever lose a game. Simply the best to ever do it as a team.
Notice how Peter Rose stood apart from the rest. There's still bad blood between them because of his betting.
I am sorry but Pete Rose needs to be in the hall of Fame, betting or no betting.
Joe was my favorite as a kid. Even though I was a Yankee fan. I had a small red glove.
I remember Joe Morgan telling the story of the time Tony Perez told him, "the Cincinnati Reds made you a HOFer. With the Houston Astros, you were just another second baseman." How many teams bat a +.300 hitter 8th? The 1976 Reds, Cesar Geronimo.
I'm from Virginia and i grew up a Cincinnati Reds fan. i have been a fan since 1972 and my favorite player is Johnny Bench and the greatest manger ever George "Sparky" Anderson. Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame and it time for those in baseball to forgive him, I did.

Thanks everyone that seen the video of The Big Red Machine The Big Red Machine broke every record that you can think of in Major League Baseball yes and I do say Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame I'm glad you all enjoyed this video of The Big Red Machine now if the Bengals could pick up where the Reds left off at that would be amazing Well God Bless,All And Reamber to Stay Positive Safe Well And Blessed

@@Jiltedin2007 yeah, when they introduced the Franchise Four, at the All Star Game, in about 2016, Rose went to Bench and enthusiastically greeted him, and Bench smiled, but you wonder how much tension there was at that moment ....
Let us not forget the batboy - Ken Griffey Jr!
David Concepcion should be in the MLB Hall of Fame. Great numbers and that doesn't even factor in his base stealing.
Guess Ken & Pete didn’t get the memo on the red jackets. Lol
Griffey ....did in fact bat 7th ....In the 1975 Playoffs ...World Series the Reds often used.....Rose Morgan Bench Perez Foster Concepcion Griffey Geronimo as their lineup .....
Why is everyone so dapper and Pete Rose looks like he just got off the bus from a local bar's fishing trip.

Major League Baseball does not allow him to wear anything for the teams...
Isn't Rose out here for batting out of order? He was announced before Morgan. Also, I'm pretty sure this Rose-Morgan-Bench-Perez ordering wasn't as common as the Rose-Griffey-Morgan-Perez configuration. Griffey's speed and contact fit perfectly in the 2 spot.

Joe Morgan Day is why of course. He had to be introduced last...
There were four clubs all capable of having sports dynasties if not for cancelling each other out in that era and by great coincidence they were divided by the four baseball divisions. NL east Pirates, NL west Reds, AL east Orioles and AL west A's. Lots of allstars and some hall of famers just from those four teams. It was a great time to be a baseball fan where the all star game was a major viewing event with names like Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson, Don Drysdale as well as the stars from those four teams like Clemente, Stargell, Doc Ellis, Al Oliver, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Jim Palmer, Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Reggie Jackson, Vida Blue and more. I just don't find today's players as interesting and wonder which ones are cheating with ped's to pad their stats.
Why didn't the other Reds' teammates shake hands with Rose?
Is there a reason that Rose stood so distant from Bench ?
I probably would've enjoyed watching these guys play in the 70s!

i saw them , going back to the 1960s at crosley. the reds made the game look easy to play, and they had fun doing it. you could sense the intimidation meter go off the scale. their defense playing ability was simply amazing.

You definitely would have... before video games and cell phones just kicking it and watching slow paced baseball was so much fun in the 70s. And this particular great team was always so fun to watch, even though the Angels were my team
They couldn’t let Pete come out last they still have to find some way to punish him he would’ve had a bigger pop than what he had
Concepcion should be in the Hall. Rose should have his own wing in the Hall.
what made Pete Rose think when he woke up, "I'm going to wear a f'ing t shirt today for this event." Like come on, seriously?

Let me start by saying I’m a Red Sox fan and remember ‘75 very well. Great Series. That having been said, Pete Rose is a jerk! Total narcissist, not only could he not get dressed for this event, he doesn’t even shake the hands of his teammates. Watch the video again if you missed it. And btw, Ed Armbrister DID commit interference AND Ted Williams is the Greatest hitter of All-Time.
