Por esse motivo, o sedan brasileiro teve o parabrisa e os vidros laterais do alemão 1958, e a vigia traseira do alemão 1965, até 1996... Nenhuma evolução da suspensão traseira foi feita, nem aqui no Brasil, nem no México... Na frente, então...

What a beautiful, rare vehicle. It is so uncommon to see a 70's 1303 Super Beetle that has been so well cared for. I have a '74 1303 Sun Beetle. Do you know where I might find a rosewood radio block off plate, like the one in your dash?

Thanks, I don't think there's any reproduction of the radio delete plate, only for older model ('50-'60) and they are not in rosewood trim....

Lucky man...

unfortunately we did not have this model in Brazil, including the convertible model.

Scott Brady first of all this car was sold new in Denmark, what was playing on the radio in Sweden or Norway I don`t know, but in Denmark they were playing the same hits as you were listening to in the US....The reason for not ordering radio could be our small country; before the tubes would heat up, the trip has ended...

Kris B No, I don’t have it anymore. Maintenance is cheap and simpel, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a daily driver!.

Não tem, porque é um modelo para o mercado Europeu. Os exportados para os Estados Unidos da América do Norte, são mais completos...

Looks more like a '73; the 74's had cylindrical, hydraulic bumper supports, unless this is a strictly european model (I notice there are no head rests). The speedometer/odometer is also in metric.

Congratulations with your nice 1303'Big' beetle! It has the interiour of a original 'Big' for sure but where are those beautiful wide 5 1/2" wheels that were originally mounted on a 1303 'Big'?? The ones mounted on your car are the 4 1/2" version!...I also miss the black stipes and '1303BIG' logo on both sides of the car but that's not so important ;-)

Thanks, this car has been sold for almost a year now! Not all Big models were equipped with 5 1/2" rims, some came with 4 1/2", at least here in Denmark. You're right about the "1303 Big" sticker is missing, due to repainting they were removed and new never reinstalled. Actually replacement stickers are available!

In Belgium,all BIG 1303 beetles had 5 1/2" wheels! The one's with 4 1/2" wheels were the 'Jeans' and 1303 'City' Beetle ;-)

I know this is a really old video but I was hoping you could respond. I have the same car basically, but mine had pilot seats with headrests! Maybe it is because it is a 1600? Also my main question is, at 2:22 what is that thing on the dash? Is it for you to keep track of your trips? Was that an original accessory? Mine has a black plastic piece there, if that is the intended piece for that hole, I'd love to look for it and get one. Do you know what it is called or where can I find it? Thanks!

Yes it's for keeping track of trips. It was not an original option, but something popular back then, if you car wasn't equipped with a trip odometer. As for the seats i don't think the pilot seat or bucket seat was available in Europe, but I'm not an expert en Beetles. This one on the video was a 1600 cc, too.

I try to give some details: This Beatle 1303 was built from August 1972 until May 1974. The motor has 1284 ccm and 44 HP. After Volkswagen stopped the building, they started the production of Volkswagen Golf.

I want to buy this bug ... Is it for sale ?

Ar condicionado era um acessório a parte... Nenhum sedan VW Tipo 1, produzido em qualquer fábrica da Volkswagen, jamais teve ar condicionado. Isso é um acessório.

Esse não passou nem perto do Brasil. A única verdade que um certo ex presidente fálou: nos andamos em carroças. Só vinha pra cá o que já obsoleto na Europa e mesmo só vinha os ruins junto com peças que lá não mais serviam. A kombi é outro exemplo, aqui porta corrediça e teto alto só em anos 2000, lá já anos 60/70 porta corrediça, teto alto. Lamentável.
