Have to say it’s the best looking comet I’ve ever seen. Most were treated like crap and scraped in the junk yard.

growing up my neighbor raced comets and mavericks. he had some truly phenomenal race cars going down the track on fri and sat nights.
my 72 Ford Maverick was dark blue, same shape, didn't have buckets, and then i jacked up the rear, put extra big shackles, shiny chromes, and extra wide tires with raised white letters on the back !! I miss that car !

I wish somebody could fine me a 1968 Mercury Monterey 4 door - 390 engine with 4 barrel carb . I bought one in 1974 with only 15,000 miles on it. An old person could not drive it no more and i paid $350.00 for it. I wish to own one again before this cancer get the best of me.

Those bumpers ruined the looks of all those 70s cars. They were just thrown on and looked stupid.

I have a 73 comet with the inline 6, lookin for a 72 with the small bumpers and a v8, the big bumpers are horrendous. This comet gt looks badass tho 👍

My bud's 72 with a Boss 302 and 9" 4.12 would run 11 FLAT all day long. Cool cars
that is a great resto job. I don't like the gauges on the dash. but a beautiful paint job. wow
My stepdad just found a 72 gt it's in pretty good shape just a little rust in the hood n trunk like all of em do now since it's 2021 hes got a 72 maverick sprint too

Reminds me of Richard Rawlings Comet, same color, maybe a 74 as well?

Wrong, the Ford Maverick and Mercury Comet were both sold in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Those ridiculous bumpers, good Lord!! Otherwise an awesome car. Had one back in the day.

Beautiful. BUT. Back in my high school days, no one would drive a Comet or a Maverick. They were considered Old Granny cars. They just don't have a nice front end/grille; the rear is presentable, but again, those taillights shared the same look as the hideous 70-71 Merc Cyclones...just not really appealing. Engine compartment should be painted Satin Black as from factory, not body color.
