1974 AMC Hornet Sportabout Wagon - Gateway Classic Cars of Nashville #48
For sale in our Nashville showroom is a car that's creating quite a buzz, a 1974 AMC Hornet station wagon. Arguably one of the coolest and best driving cars we have in the showroom, this 74' Hornet for sale is eager to please! All original and with a numbers matching drivetrain, this car is truly a collector's piece. This particular AMC Hornet for sale is powered by a peppy 258 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder. Built to be both economical and reliable, the inline-6 provides plenty of torque, allowing for quick and smooth acceleration. Backing the 6 cylinder is a 3-speed automatic. Add this to the tight power steering and the finely tuned power brakes, and you have a vehicle that can stand up next to any modern day economy car. This 74' AMC Hornet wagon for sale has an exterior that is nothing short of groovy. The light Seafoam Green paint is original and even adorns the original 1974 World's Fair sticker in the back window. With sharp lines, this is truly one sharp looking wagon! The interior would appear to come straight from The Brady Bunch, with green and white patterned cloth and vinyl seats. Open all for doors and the back hatch and you'll be amazed at the square footage and surface area you have to work with. With enough room for your family, friends, groceries, and drum set, this car has more room than you could ever expect from a compact! Simply put, the fun to passenger ratio is through the roof! Options on this 1974 AMC Hornet for sale, include: AM radio, power brakes, power steering, seat belts, cloth and vinyl interior, and steel wheels with hub caps wrapped around white wall radials. My Grandfather bought one new back in 74. It was a fun car. Then I dated a girl in HS that had the Gremlin! Fun times.
Great video! My mom had one in tan. In 1983, while parked at the top of our long, uphill driveway, the county snow plow lost control in a snow storm and totaled our wagon. Noone was hurt but the town reimbursed my mom for the vehicle. She enjoyed that wagon.
Awesome! Very rare to see one of these! My uncle had the 4 door, dark green....that was rare itself....I think a '72.
My parents owned a beige 76 Wagon, they drove it from Vancouver Island to Nova Scotia while pulling a hard top tent trailer. Solid, reliable, comfy and had "enough" power with the larger I-6 to drift on the back dusty roads. I learned how to drive in ours. Fantastic memories!!
I wish I still had mine.
This is an absolutely beautiful example of the infamous AMC Hornet Sportabout.....
Love it. I have '73 Grasshopper Green, all original 232.
I had one when I was 25. It was an amazing car! It never broke down. I sold it when I decided to reenlist in the Navy.
