Whoa Nelley, this one is clean and a sight to be seen. Moore Ford is possibly Dewey Moore Ford at 143 TX-49, Hughes Springs, TX 75656. Whoa Benny, this one is probably worth a pretty penny. In NYC, we had catchy ones like that such as "Hurry to Murray" (Murray Olds, Perth Amboy, NJ) and "Stop Cryin' Try Laffin' " (Laffin Chevrolet, South River, NJ). This one could and should be saved. Not much needed to get this one back up and running. When we get the VIN, we always win. Here we go from the top: F10 for F100 2WD, H for 390 V8 with two barrel, K for Kansas City, MO assembly (which has assembled the F Series trucks since 1957 continuously), and the rest is the production sequence, appearing to put it in 1973 model year production (hard to see, we'll go with that). When we get the tag, we can brag: 133 is the wheelbase in inches, paint appears to be R8 which is Medium Ginger Metallic (Sequoia Brown Metallic) and Tampico Yellow exterior paint, model of F103 is for F100 2WD pickup, transmission code of G is for a Ford three speed automatic, axle of 4 appears to be 4:57:1 ratio (seems kind of high for an F100...), body code of B is for Styleside pickup, 17J should be the 17th day of November 1972 production, G for trim is possibly Medium Avocado interior trim, DSO code is hard to read, and the number in the lower left is the maximum GVWR rating of the truck. Whoa Nelley, this one may get squished and we're gonna be pissed.

4:57 rear gear man that would pull stumps out of the ground. I bought a 73 300 six 3 on the tree had it for two hours got hit in the front wheel by a woman driving a Mustang ll , she drove her vehicle off after the fender was pulled out and my truck was totaled knocked the I Beam's right out of it but I came out well paid 400 got 900 from her Insurance company. Nationwide is on your side. 😆

@@garymckee8857 You got hit, and that's it, time to quit. One time on a parts run with a neighbor, I slid into a Ford Tempo, broadsiding it and spinning out into an intersection. It was snowing. I wiped out the side of the neighbor's 1981 Cutlass Supreme two door with an "LD5" 231 V6. The guy in the Tempo was like, "Ah, no sweat, go on your way, I'm good". I was upset for the neighbor, but he put it through insurance and they paid to fix the damage and repaint the whole car. It looked better than new when they were done. My neighbor (a retired NYC school boilermaker at the time) said, "Next time do a better job and total the car out!" We had a good laugh at that. That neighbor was a saint, he passed away in 1994 after moving from NYC to OH.

Pretty good account of ID tag info. Except for rear diff ratio. 4:57 isn't high, it's very low, no way did this truck come with a rear-end that low. With that auto trans, you'd be in high gear at 20mph. Lol

My dad had a ford truck just like this 1 same year same engine only his was red and white .... It was a good truck and ran very good ! Seeing this video brought back memories of my dads truck ...

R.I.P to owner of old that Ford truck know it's been since 98 when he died but very solid pickup& camper special aswell.

MY neighbor back in the 1990's had a 1977 Ranger Long bed Auto PS/PB A/C Tilt CC Cloth bucket seats Am/FM 8 Track Power Windows AMP for radio 302 V-8 5.0L Two Tone Brown/Beige Steel wheels XLT Model. His was well optioned he gave it to me in 1996 when I got mt license. Couldn't afford the gas. So I used it on the weekends and brought a 1988 Plymouth Sun-dance with 85k miles for 800.00. This truck got 10 city/14 highway Sun-dance got 25city 35 highway. When I got ird of it i gave it back to Mr Brock and thanked him. I was his favorite neighborhood kid.

Those mirrors are factory. Part of the Camper Special package. Thanks for this video. My grandpa had one same year except was red and had a 4 speed manual transmission. He drove it all the way into December 2002 when he had his stroke and couldn't drive anymore. I remember he always kept maps and tools in those pockets. I tried to get it but my Uncle sold it for scrap.

As IF 2020 wasn't bad enough, this truck being here certainly does NOT help! Hits me especially hard cuz I'm being waitlisted on a '73 F250 like this one. Owner won't sell it until it runs so imma wait more. Good engine, clean body/interior, and hard to find paperwork! Damn, this one being here is a SIN! Tailgates are EASY to find and you'll have no trouble getting her back on the road! Hope you took the papers and the hubcaps, those are BTS hubcaps!!! (BTS "Dynamite" music video had a 78/79 Ford with those hubcaps)

This old girl needs to be saved. Definitely a diamond in the rough. I wish I had the time and resources to buy it and restore this one.

So savable. Almost worth getting a second mortgage, buying a couple acre spot with 8 foot high fences with a large shop. Buy beauties like these and target market to buyers in the rust belt. No pick a part, just pick a vehicle and have it shipped or towed home. The sheet metal is mind blowing, some could be buffed out and that old enamel shines. You post these and I think, none of those here. If there wasn't an issue traveling across the boarder, I would seriously buy one ton dually and an open two car trailer and start shadowing you. Maybe one day

I’d buy that right now if I could.....

Knew a guy who had that same truck back in 1977 to tone green with the 390 V8 that ran great but burned 2 quarts of oil every tank of gas. It didn't smoke or leak and he traded it in because it was either out of gas or oil.

Real shame on this old truck it's got a sad story. But that would have been all right to get her running and drive it as is!!!

The bumper guards and map pockets were factory options, those mirrors are aftermarket. This truck DOES NOT belong in a salvage yard, hopefully somebody saved it, these were the best trucks ever built.

Wow that was a low mile truck. Who would of known.

I know a junkyard that has hundreds of these trucks all years, all models. Chevys too, it was sad to see. I need to go back and get some pictures, there were literally so many nice classic trucks just sitting there, classic cars too

Funny fact: The star-shaped hubcaps are called BTS hubcaps! The BTS "Dynamite" music video had a white 78/79 Ford driving around with those hubcaps. They're super collectible and look good with whitewalls!

That's a great truck, I am not a GM guy!! And I just a bought Silverado cause I was talked into it from all my GM truck buddies and its broke down 4 times it's now up for sale so I can get another F150

Classic Ride Society those door pockets did come factory on some of the 73 to 79 ford trucks.

I've got a 99 dodge dakota with barely 60k miles on it and this ford looks better underneath than mine does lol seriously, already had to weld and re-enforce it once.

At Randy Schartiger...I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 White standard cab Long box No Rust or busted dash 3.9 V6 5 speed with all most 24,000 original miles from chicago. A Stripped down bare bones truck. Not even an Am radio. My summertime driver.. May 16th. 2019 I bought her.

I had a 99 Dodge Ram 5.2 brand new off the lot....it didn’t make it to 2002 with less than 40k before it was a lawn ornament.....worst truck I’ve ever owned, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING went wrong - blown head gasket under 10k miles, 2 oil pump replacements , blown trans, ac broke, radio broke, dash split, water leak from rear glass, water pump went out, suspension started to go on the rear leaf spring passenger side, leaked oil at the pan and covers, drivers side rear brakes always grabbed or grinded no matter what was changed it came back quickly until finally blew another head gasket. Sold it for $500 as is and I think the next owner got another 3000 miles before it crapped out in 2004. I’ll never buy anything but Ford again ( minus classic vehicles). Wife had a 2007 nitro she just had to have because it looked cool right after we got married...it was brand new off the lot that was a junk box from day one too. Same issues, from ac, died at a stop light, ran rough, interior broke on the seats and center console....held it to 2010 until I got a real job and traded it in on a F150. I read y’all comments and wonder how in the heck y’all’s trucks are still around. Down here near Houston I see maybe 1 dodge truck from the mid 90s to 2000 or whenever they changed the style up maybe a few times a year but I’ll spot a 80s,90s ford and Chevy all the time.

The 73 was the first year for that door option its part of the camper special!! That and the obvious side bed toolbox compartment!👍 not bad for a Chevy boy knowledge is it?😂

my hope, someone will restore this pickup...love my Fords !

A/C was a rare option for these most of these were a stander 300 stripped model with AM Radio. Es Ranger was a trim level package that got you PS/PB Auto A/C and upgraded intereir as standard in 1977. Options available included Tlit Wheel CC Am/FM Radio 8 Track and XLT was another upgrade.

Oh dang I need the whole front end for my 73. My 73 is custom explorer f100 with a 360 4 speed. Finding parts for these are hard. But I really don't want to buy from lmc because I am lazy.

I'm not a big ford guy..but I do drive a 1985 mustang....and I just went and bought a 1977 ford f150...its a rust bucket..but I'm going to restomode it...hard to find good old truck..there is zero here.

That truck deserves a "First start in years " video at least. I'm going to cry if cowboy car crushing does the video of it being flattened 😭😭😭😭

Where is it and how much for it.... That should be an easy on the wallet restoration to keep it at driver quality. What's the going rate on that for scrap....

Texas laws about cars and trucks like this sucks! I had a 74 4×4 with a 390. Got almost 10 mpg. If that one was 4 wheel drive I would head down and get it. Not that I have time or room for anything else. 70 update driver side floor and rocker are in and welded. Quarter panel tacked in place. Passenger side floor tacked in. Still a lot to do. The person I bought it from is asking to buy it back when its done.
