You certainly know how to present the features and the drivability of this car without any words needed --- it's a beautiful car that can't be replicated today, for various reasons

Ahhh, I sure miss this particular car. I personally bought it and imported it from the US before selling it to the new owner who made this video. She runs so beautifully and is very comfortable and reliable. Such a pity GM closed the Oldsmobile brand and discontinued the whole Toronado-series. I also had a Cadillac Eldorado and about 10 other 66 to 68 Toronados plus one '74 with only 1450 miles on the meter - and actually like brand new. Please take good care of this Toro - I really regret that I sold her cause she really is a one of a kind. Bless and thanks for taking so good care of that beautiful car.

Unfortunately I had to sell it. I owned it in a partnership and retrospective it was the best thing to end this partnership, I can tell you….It was a very nice car, in an excellent condition! Loved driving it, but I never really had the time and/or the spirit to enjoy it, due to this partnership. The Oldsmobile brand was the next best after Buick ( my opinion) and yes, really sad GM chose to close the Oldsmobile division.

Big,fast, nimble and comfortable, when I was 12 years old I had a chance to drive a 3x black 72 that belonged to a school teacher.

I owned this 1972 car! It was green. The first car to make popular the brake lights above the trunk! It had front wheel drive! Actually, I owned 4 Tornadoes! Never could get the 1977 with the rap around rear window....

The 71 that I had, also in green, had the lights on the fore the trunk lid.

@@WhatYouSee Mine was green as well.. 72, had a 80 but Always wanted a 67, a kid at my school got one mint in 1985, 1st time i saw the roll speedo.

My folks had one. This was their first. Very nice car as a kid I recall.

Beautiful... My Grandmother drove one in the same color combo. My Mom wanted one ,but my Dad said we need a 4 door sedan or Station wagon. She drove 98s until the last child left the nest, by that time early 1980's Olds downsided the Toronado and she hated the new design. so their last Olds was another 98 .

I had a '73 oldmobile ninetyeight hardtop coupe. The dashboard was very similar in shape and color and i do remember that typical ticking of the blinkers. You don't hear these sounds in today's cars anymore.

Wow this is a clean one! Always love Eldorados and Toronados.

I also had one as a teenager, it had been my grandfather's. That Toranado was truly an amazing car. And I was probably the only kid back then that wore both the lap and shoulder belts when I drove that car. In addition to the obvious safety aspect of buckling up, I found that I had a better feeling of how the car drove and handled with the belts buckled and I got in the habit of wearing them all the time.

@@bradparris99 Thats so funny because I did wear mine too because i drove like a speed demon..lol. It was my 1st car while in college in Denver. I remember the 1st time that crackling speed alarm bell went of when I buried the speedo at 120mph from Denver to Colorado Springs, it took me a minute to figure out what in hell all that noise was..LoL It was the 1st of many times i heard it.. Trust me.. I Loved the seat 6 back then, the fact that the rear windows went down, the bright low cornering light that took me forever to figure out how they turned on, had no idea. There was just so many little things about that BIG car that made it my most memorable car in my life so far.

@@tbdurant Most people I knew back then with older cars rarely used the belts and if they did it was only the lap belt. Seems like you and myself were the only smart ones to wear both the lap and shoulder belts. I liked the secure feeling those belts provided, but it was really tricky to reach the cigarette lighter and the radio. However being confining was the whole point of buckling up and I am certainly glad I wore both the belts. Coming home from college one weekend a drunk driver in a Chevrolet suburban crossed the center line and hit me head on. Because of the size of the car and the fact that I was wearing both the lap and shoulder belts in the collision, I walked away with only bruises from the belts which was far better than the unbelted drunk driver who had massive head and chest injuries from the steering wheel and dash. His passenger was ejected through the windshield and landed on the hood of his car and he had head trauma and many broken bones. It's amazing how a 5 seconds to buckle up habit as a young kid could make such a difference.

I really enjoyed how the car drove and handled more firmly and a bit more ridged with the lap and especially the shoulder belt buckled. That is what really got me in the dutiful habit of wearing them all the time. I suspect that if more people had tried wearing the belts for a couple of days they too would have gotten in the habit of wearing them. And yes, I too had a lead foot and got out of several tickets because I was that responsible young guy who was wearing both belts, much to the surprise of the officer that had pulled me over.

Are family had a new 72 bought out of West Nyack NY . Dark gold ext with black leather. Dad took it straight to Florida with the family of 5 for a vacation. 95mph all day in comfort and style.

My grandparents still have there1971 Toronado that's been in there garage since 1980. all leather and in good shape. hopefully, on their 50th anniversary, my grandad will flush the fluids out and get it running.

Shid drain fluids ruin it if not used. I got a 72silver. I need one trim piece on door

Of all the point and shoot automobiles the unitized frame was by far the best of all,there's nothing not even remotely like it anymore

I’m not quite sure what you mean?? The first generation of Olds Toronado had a unitized body with a subframe for the drivetrain and front suspension. From 1971 and on, the Toronado became a full frame construction....

this car puts those new ugly aero dynamic pieces of garbage they make and call cars now a days to shame .
