Joe Namath turns 80 today so here's a vid of the 1972 Jets. Jets were actually fairly decent in 72 could have been in the playoffs but choked away a few games they should have won. 7-7 season overall.

if only theyd beat the sorry oilers and held off miami in week 10. while joe willie had a good season he always threw ints. but it was their defense that constantly gave up big plays. 72 was an exciting season for the jets though they failed to beat a team with a winning record. that monday night game against the raiders was exciting. high powered offense with a weak defense sums up the 72 jets.

That pass to Maynard was an absolute dart. Joe didn’t have the best mechanics, he was all arm, and what an arm it was

Wierd seeing John riggins back then.i'd bet he was the only player still playing in the mid 80's from that game
