1970 Honda CT90 Restoration

Ойын-сауық

Tom's Uncle Tom stops by with his fully restored 1970 Honda CT90 and gives us the lowdown his rad little bike. The majority of the build was made possible by the good folks at Beatrice Cycle in Nebraska.

Beautiful job. Looks and runs great. If I get mine looking half as good it will be amazing!

WOW!! Great job on that bike!! I have always wanted one. Too bad we're in lockdown and money is so tight. I would definitely add that to my garage! (And you're right -- it is BETTER than it was new.)

I agree, it is better than new.. If a motorcycle can be lovely, yours is. Very happy for you. I love that you still have the high altitudePush button carb. and not some Chinese thing without it. What's your cruising speed, and what's your top speed? I Google beach recycle Nebraska. And it gave me a list of recycling places near Ogallala? Perhaps there's a link in the video descriptio ? Thank you. Happy trails.

I am surprised Beatrice Cycle didn't tell you how to pronounce their town's name. I only know because of the HBO special on the murders there. But I love the bike, I am buying a 1970 red one tomorrow. Anyone have a link for them? They seem to be out of business. I would love some upgraded shocks etc.

I put signals on my ‘69. Used some from a PA50 moped. They are the same as later model black ones.

That's an interesting bike, it seems like a transition bike in the K1 model run. Early K1's had a shark fin reflector on the front fender and a "4 Bolt" carb. Your bike's got the "4 Bolt" carb but has the reflectors up on the forks which was what the later K1's had. So this bike might be from when Honda transitioned to the different reflectors but had not yet switched over to the much more common 2 bolt carbs you find on later Trail 90's. It's an interesting little piece of Trail 90 history and a possibly a fairly unique bike.

I don't mean to sound cantankerous but that's not a 1970 model; it's a '69. The most obvious giveaways are the speedometer, headlight ( small and not a sealed beam ), and the exhaust cover.

The airbox on 1970 and later connected to the rear rack. The 1969 is a one year design for the airbox that has a hole punched out in the frame. I'll buy it from you if you want to go aftermarket :)
