It's a 1968 version as it has the earlier front brake and silencer.

No. It was a replacement for the Tiger cub. The engine unit is exactly the same as tge BSA Starfire (bar the rocker inspection cap and drive side casing that are branded Triumph) The gearing was slightly lower. It had a smaller engine sprocket and a larger rear sprocket.
