Here we take a closer look at a 1969 GT500 Mustang. This year featured a new look for all Mustangs, with the GT500 adding the Cobra Jet 428 and ram air induction, now with 335 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque. Thirteen different exterior colors, including this car's Gulfstream Aqua shade, were offered. While not the last year of GT500 sales, it was the last year they would be produced until decades later, with unsold 1969 cars receiving new VIN tags and additional striping for 1970. Check out the video with AMCM's Ed Dedick covering the car in greater detail.

Nice to see that the stripe was put on correctly. Splits the marker light evenly. Most people get this detail wrong.
These videos showing well finished examples get me hyped up. I have a convertible waiting to get restored but resources are tight at the moment, so it'll still be a few years.

Good catch. They weren't until 1970 but at this point I've seen so many 69s with Hurst shifters that it looks original. I guess people figure if they have to drive an automatic, may as well have a cool looking shifter.
