These were beautiful cars. I recall walking home from school in the afternoon, every day one of these passed me. I was fascinated by the trunk. No other car looked like it. I told my mother that I had picked out the car I wanted when I grew up, and it had a “funny” trunk. She asked me to draw it for her. She looked at my piece of paper and said “your grandpa has this car”. I saw him only a few times per year, and never knew what he drove since we visited him at his apartment in Dearborn MI. Yes, he was a Ford exec, and drove a new Lincoln every year. I remember the first time I got to ride in his car. My parents and I were traveling to California to spend a summer with relatives. It was the first time I had ever flown. Grandpa drove my parents and I to the airport, and picked us up in his beautiful Lincoln. My mom and I sat in the back seat, I was really nervous to fly the first time, but riding to the airport in the Lincoln made up for it.
Why do these videos always show up on my recommended list long after the featured vehicles have been sold? Beautiful car!

My favorite car of all time and I'm drooling, wishing I could buy it.
Had one in 1977, fast and eerily silent, my favorite tank of all time.
Wow that graphite gray and dark red leather interior?! That is Gangsta. What presence. Beautiful design. 👌🏼
My dad had one of these, new. Same color combo. Took my driver's license test with it. What a ride.
I loved the 1969 Lincoln Continental and the Mark III's as they was well built cars and I had the Continental for that year model and loved it very much. The Mark III was the car I wanted to own and knew a friend in California who owned one and that car drove like a dream.
The bearded guy with the toque was really knowledgeable and well spoken. Easy to listen to so you can absorb a lot of information. Good job.
Georgeous classic big squishy soft comfy American made land yacht. I love the styling of these Lincolns. This one is super nice.
Beautiful car. Lucky person who purchased this one from Vanguard Motor Sales! I was 11 years old when the Continental Mark III debuted. The Mark III joined the '66 Toronado and '67 Eldorado as my favorite big luxury two-door coupes.
I've read in the forums the early Mark III 460's 69'-70' were hand built using selected fits.
I don't have the details and I would have to do a little research to verify, but the best I can recall, The 1969 Lincoln Mark with a 460 cubic inch engine was the most powerful 460 ever made. Period.

I used to own a 71 Mark III and that 460 had 365 hp I believe.
My grandfather had a dark green Mark III . If I recall it also had a green interior. I was very young, but vividly remember him backing it out of the garage for me to get in the passenger door. This gray one is very good looking. A few years ago I saw a 1974 Mark IV, black with red interior. I should have bought it.
Extraordinary car and 50x more extraordinary for how it survived just extraordinary only word I could think of
What an absolute beautiful Mark lll. I'm loving the color combination and the twin fans. The salesman in the beginning if this video is OK..kind of a strong personality, but the guy who drove the car and showed us the undercarriage and the engine etc, wow, super-knowledgeable! I'm impressed. Plus, he has a very nice, soothing speaking voice. This guy should do all your videos! If I ever hit the lotto I'll be in looking for one of these.
Stunning Lincoln Mark III very original and love the engine enhancements and such. The '69s did not like to get stuck in rush hour traffic, they would overheat. Love the electric fan modification to keep this one running 🏃🏿♂️ cool. Thanks for sharing. Big fan of Lincolns. BP
This car is absolutely amazing. I totally agree with the upgrades and it's in fantastic condition in the video. I've always liked the lines and sporty style of the Mark III, and thought it to be one of the best looking of the Lincolns. Nice color combo too.
I own two of these Lincolns, a 68 and a 69. They share the same chassis of those years T-Birds. But the MKIIIs are a bit heavier. They drive unlike anything made today. You have to wear your seat belt. If you don't you slide across the front bucket bench seats as if you're skating on ice when you make a left run. Tuned properly you can expect 18 mpg on long highway cruises.
Stunning car! Im already in love with it❤
Amazes me how many turn up looking so well preserved. Makes me wonder how its possible.

I think the main reason is that these cars were expensive new and from day one went to be cherished well cared for possessions for many!
I always associate the 1969 Mark III with Elvis driving it to and then into the MGM lot, stopping to shake hands with the security guard at the entrance. Elvis and big cool-looking status cars were a completely natural fit.
That must be an incredible place to work. Can you imagine working on classic cars every day?
Who ever bought this car got the best looking Mark series ever built
8-body trunk ( double stacked ) beautiful, my dad had a black on black 69 Mark. Gorgeous car.
I love the twin electric cooling fans. It will increase hp and torque and mpg up to 10%! The ignition upgrades help with hp, torque and mpg also.
My dad's 71 he bought new is setting in my driveway looking for a new home. a survivor, with less that 90k on it, must see Big Green, what i call her what a beauty.
A friend of mine bought a 1968 Mark III. I liked it so much I bought a 1971 Mark III (light pewter exterior/black interior). I remember reading that in 1968 the grill (multi-piece die cast chromed metal) for the Mark III cost $300. That would be north of $2,000 in 2021 dollars.

A friend had a 78 mark IV, it had really bad knock. We could hear him come off the freeway and up to the house from extremely far away. We affectionately named it 'Hammer's of death.'
I have a 1971 & one 1971 parts car but you didn't mention the rear anti lock brake system. These vehicles in a panic stop with the RABS could stop faster than most Corvettes. Going into in Houston one day in 1982 rush hour traffic a 1979 Corvette ran into the back of my Mark III. It was severely damaged while the Mark III suffered scratched bumper and mangled chrome trim along the bottom of the trunk lid. If your RABS is absent or doesn't work these 5000 pound Mark III's are a real handful in a Panic Stop.
A real beauty and a piece of automotive history too! Excellent!
Its like a muscle car - luxurious boat........beautiful! This is my number one fave
My best bud in high school had a successful lawyer for a dad who traded Lincolns every year, so he had the closely related 69, 70 and 71 versions of the Mark III. I lusted after them back in the day and still do now. Peak Lincoln IMHO, downhill ever since. This is a fine example.
Where did this brilliant young car guy come from? He is actually scientific in his assessment of this Lincoln. I only that I could have the brains and training of such a mechanic…
Wow, a gray (Favorite color for any automobile) 69 Lincoln Continental Mark III with a red interior and tasteful upgrades. Certified dream car for me!!! Please post on Instagram.
This is actually the exact color scheme of the Cannon car that William Conrad drove. My dad had a black one which was funny because he looked a lot like Elvis in That's the way it is , same hair glasses , sideburns , etc , we used to get many looks from people. Mother had the very unique 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado at that time.
since Mom and Dad brought me home in anew 62 Continetal in Detroit . the only Black cherry in Detroit lol
wow a huge classic boat
Fantastic! 1969 like new!!!
Beautiful Car.
I would marry that Car !
This car is STUNNING! I would remove the vinyl top and go with an all steel look, however. It really makes the car's lines pop. Right side mirror is not stock. There was no such option. I wonder where they come from as it fits into the chrome channel?

OK, did a little research and a right hand mirror was an option in 1969, a little known option that was a special order from the dealer. I assume this mirror would also fit 1970 and 1971 models.
Absolutely beautiful car!
Beautifull car thank you Detroit.
VERY nice. 5 years old buy, very nice.
I love the LINCOLN CONTINENTAL, regardless of the models (the squares), I will still have one of these 🙏🙏🙏
Wow, my dream car with the mods I would have added, 3 years after.... dagnabit.
My favorite Lincoln Mark 3 year.
Great car and presentation.
Gorgeous car . I wish I could afford to buy it .
Imagine owning and driving one of these down the freeway. I would feel like a total boss, geez...
Man ride is assum cannon would have drove this in his shows…🥇👈🏾
Beautiful vehicle! 🔥👌
Nice old cruiser. Well presented...
Most beautiful car ever made!
Wow I 💘 this Car very awesomely
It looks factory fresh and showroom new!
Great display. Keep up the great work!
Absolutamente lindo, lindo, lindo. Único. Sem comentários.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
Sweet ride guys
AM Radio interference is due to Ford Ignition... Growing up in the 1970s, you always knew when a Ford Product was coming by the house on the farm as the TV Antenna would pick up interference.
When I was stationed in Nuremberg Germany I would see this Lady driving around in a white on white Lincoln Town car. I caught up with Her one day and She explained that American luxury cars were more comfortable driving especially on the Autobahn. There was also a shop downtown Nuremberg dedicated to Cadillac restoration.
Sports cars are most people's thing- Mine has always been these classic luxury rides... I've owned 6 different Mercury Grand Marquis, 3 Lincoln Continentals, 2 Cadillac Eldorado's, an Oldsmobile Ninety Eight, a Pontiac Star Chief, but right now I am without a classic ride. I would give my right arm for one of the Mark III's, I've always wanted one but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Somehow, driving a new car just isn't the same.
There’s love at first sight
Just beautiful
MY GREAT UNCLE HAD ONE OF THESE WHEN I WAS A KID. RODE LIKE DREAM. THE ONLY OTHER CAR THAT RODE WAS WELL WAS THEIR 63 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL NOW THAT WAS A GREAT CAR TOO. AND IT HAD ALL REAL WOOD TRIM INSIDE, THE MARK AT THAT TIME WENT TO PLASTIC BUT STILL LOOKED GOOD. THEY ALSO HAD A 58 AND 60 MARK THAT HAD THE WINDOW IN THE BACK THAT WENT UP AND DOWN. WITH THAT WINDOW THEY DIDN'T NEED THE AIR CONDITIONING ON. NOW THAT WAS A LAND BOAT, BIGGEST LINCOLNS EVER MADE AND HEAVY TOO.

70 and 71 Mark III went back to real wood trim!

Wow that thing is CBA! Certified Bad Ass!
Where do you ever find these primo cars! Beautiful car and color combo!
This is an beauty
If he says "sweet" one more time, I'm gonna chuck.
Beautiful car
Dad moved to Cadillac in 1979 and 80 Eldos. then 85 FLEETWOOD. . moved back to 90 Town car. last one. now mine
that thing is beautiful
5:42 For a big car, it was scary fast!
Stunning car! Three speed gearbox though? Ouch on gas mileage hehe.
My dad bought the Continental 4-dr in 1968 new. I wanted him to buy this. I still like this car. Too bad it gets 8 mpg city and around 12 hwy. I know, cause i drove my dad's '68 until 1975 then I bought a '72 Mark IV in 1980 and all I got was around 13 mpg with that one. Car is too old now to keep in shape too. No parts.
To bad is gone long time now, I would swap my SVT Cobra 04 for that Lincoln, only and only a mint condition like that one. As a bonus would give with it my 86 Lincoln town car. I try to find Mark 3 in an immaculate condition like one of in this video.
I love it !!!!
If only could find the tree that these cars grow on!
Wonderful!!!
Very Cool.
Nice looking car, Reminds me of a Godfather car
It would be nicer if he had a long list of new parts they put on the cars. “ looks nice” , “ looks new “ and “ original one” is a nice way of saying “ we didn’t do anything to this car”!
Greg and I are Lincoln Mercury fans.
it s beatiful love it tums upp
2:14 *Need To Sit BaCk There And Watch ScarFaCe*
THIS CAR IS PURE GANGZTERLEAN. BIG PIMPIN ALL DAY, EVERY DAY
How do you find all these beautiful cars?
Great... I just shit my pants. Thanks guys.
Cars of today, have no personality nor elegance. I'd love to have a clean 96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.
I am surprised it doesn't have to hood ornament, that most '69 have.
@sooverit5529
2 жыл бұрын
None of the Mark IIIs had hood ornaments. If you ever see one with a hood ornament, it was added aftermarket.
Absolutely beautiful!! Question: were they always that "throaty" and have that loud of a roar when revved? Just seems so loud compared to my previous Town Cars and my 2020 Continental.
@vanguardmotorsales

I turned the audio up a little bit during that part of the video just so you guys can hear the exhaust a little better!
I would add a Holly projection fuel injection & a modern 4 speed AOD Transmission.
How many miles on it?
Very beautiful luxury car
This Lincoln has style up the wazoo...
