1969 GTO Revival
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is our 1969 GTO. When we found this car it had been sitting in a field for 30 years. The last time it was touched was when the previous owner installed brake pads in the early 90s.

Keep it coming bro
Owned a 69 4spd while in Germany in the Army , paid $1500 Cash, car showed 69000, from the nice condition probably true mileage.
I love these car restoration episodes especially if it's about a GTO

Not at all! We’ve had 90s cars that look worse.
That's a Chevy 12 bolt. I have a 69 GTO that I bought back in the fall of 1989.

@@bpbuilds LOL you mean GM 12 Bolt. GM didn't put Chevy 12 Bolts in Chevy's, Buick's, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac's, or any GM (C.B.O.P.) car, they put GM 12 bolts in them. To say it's a Chevy 12 bolt would be like saying it's a Pontiac 12 bolt in a Chevy or a Buick 12 bolt in an Oldsmobile. Pretty much all those A-Bodies were designed to take all the same suspension components with the exception of each manufactures unique engines. Like Chevy's took Chevy engines, Oldsmobile Engines had Oldsmobile engines and Pontiac Pontiac engines. There was a period when GM made the mistake of putting each Divisions engines in other Divisions cars for a few years and it pissed A LOT of folks off. One good example is the mid year Trans Am's had Oldsmobile engines in them. At some point in the 60's GM designed the main frames and interior sheet metals to be exactly the same with few exceptions being usually around the skin next to the passengers rear window. A good example of this internal sheet metal design is the GM 1969 skinless shells for the Firebird and the Camaro, of which you can still purchase today brand new complete with or without the skins. The basic idea was to cut down on the amount of dies needed to stamp the majority of the vehicles interior components then only change the skin and then put each Divisions motors and wheels on the vehicles shell. Thanks for the humor though. Best Wishes and Blessings. Keith Noneya

@@keithnoneya Unfortunately GM Did Make An Old's 12 Bolt Rear That DOESN'T Interchange Axles/Carrier With A 'Chevy' 12 Bolt Differential. Pontiacs Had B.O.P 10 Bolt In NON-455 Equipped Cars(Those Got Chevy 12 Bolts). Check HOLLANDERS Interchange Manuals(Any Old Salvage Yard Should Still Refer To) For Identification.

@@markpalio4411 That's weird. Learn something every day. I knew about the 10 bolt and 12 bolts in the Chevy's and Pontiac's but I thought they were all GM rear ends in those vehicles because they had GM on them not a bow tie or Chevrolet castings. Guess you learn something new everyday. I didn't know about the Old's 12 bolt carriers, thanks for the information. Best Wishes and Blessings. Keith Noneya

@@keithnoneya You're Welcome! Only After Working In A Classic Car Salvage Yard, I Learned What To Look For! I'm Into 68 Chevelle SS's And Was ALWAYS Scoping For Diffs(POSI's). GM Also Made 12 Bolts For Trucks And Vans-Trucks Were Slightly Different Than The Vans. Vans Shared Some Parts With Cars. Take Care!
She looks like nice solid bones. I have a 72 Lemans wagon with the endura option. I'll be checking out your KZread page for sure.

@@bpbuilds You fill a void in every GTO wanna be's life and I thank you... my favorite car ... again very appreciated
Little FYI-12 Bolt Diffs(Chev/Pont) Have A Real Problem Of Wearing Out Where The Bearings Ride On The Axles. You Probably Should've Taken Out The Axles And Checked For Grooves(Wear). Worn Axles Ruin Rear Shoes As They Wear Out Axle Seals And Gear Oil Starts Leaking. Won't Re-Use Orig GM Axles As Better(Modern) Are Available(Currie/Moser To Name A Couple Companies). Possibly A Bearing Saver....But Just A Matter Of Time!!

@@bpbuilds Just Saves You From Having Brake Issues While Cruising Around!
Music is intolerable.
It really sucks how many classic muscle cars are just left to rot in forests, this is why the market is so expensive nowadays.
Good luck

WHY? Just ask them if its a 242 (real gto)!
ya chevy 12 bolt most GTO'S have flat covers "no eye brow" and most gto's with posi are 10 bolt and 12bolts are open rear ends I KNOW THAT SOUNDS BACKWARD but thats how Pontiac did it.Get new pre bent lines from In Line Tubbing Company very resonable
Interesting, but I had to turn it off because the background music was really obnoxious. Music from around 1969 would be much better and appropriate, or just skip the music entirely.
Reproduction brake lines are not expensive. That car would be well served getting all new brake piping and brake hoses.

I have them, I just haven’t put them on yet. I’m gonna have to pull the motor again, and then its going to be a laundry list of “while I’m in there tasks”
Hi the break pipe tool your are using is the worst thing to use you should throw it in the bin they are dangerous and patching old pipe on a car like you have it's bodging it not good to see sorry but i wouldn't want you to do any work on my car's 😦.
