Not mentioned: This car has full gauges, including voltmeter and oil pressure. With the radio set up high in the dash.
What a geat story! Cool that they used an AMC instead of one of the big 3.
I've owned two 68 Rambler Americans. They were the best two cars I've ever owned. One was Motorweek's "Car of the Week" in episode 1510.
Great story. My family had a 4 door 69 Rambler American. 199 straight 6. the car was still going in the early 1990s when the family sold it.

I wonder where that Rambler is now? Does Sidney still have it? Does it still stay in that barn?
While this story is fascinating, I believe one thing that helped them was the fact they were from America, where a multiple day road trip is so common because the US is so large 😅
Is there a chance anybody knows what the status of this car is now, some 32 years after this segment was taped?

All Rogues were hardtops. This is an American 2-door sedan.
And it was also beaten by soviet Moskvitch!
Back when you could buy a good car and have fun with it. Today there aren't any good cars. Just garbage crossovers that are disposable appliances

This car was made in IRAN under the name of,,Aria,, Well-known, comfortable & cheap.
No surprise about Turkey, the name should tell you everything that you need to know about it.
