My parents had a similar model, the 1969 2+2, which had no Parisienne branding at all. It was just a Pontiac 2+2. What a car and a half. It was a convertible with an all-black interior, the exterior painted in a low-key pastel yellow they called 'maize,' the same or similar V8 engine which sounded identical to this one, and numerous options besides the ragtop. The taillights were far more attractive in 1969, thicker and in a horizontal-J shape (without a hook on the J) rather than a hockey stick shape. It had bucket seats, power windows, a nicer dash and steering wheel, but the same center console and that wonderful shifter. The wheels had a far sportier faux-mag look in matte brushed metal. My parents had a powerful Marantz 8-track stereo installed and the whole result was something of a dream late-60s car. Power, speed, extreme good looks and perfect summer style. I never saw another like it, despite Pontiacs being highly popular where we lived in those days. The cost was unbelievable for that time, and I can attest to seeing the invoice with my own eyes many years later. Including the great stereo, all the options and tax it said C$6,400. (The currency was pegged at 93 cents in that era, so call it US$6,000.) You could've ordered a Cadillac for that price. ("1969 Cadillac Deville 2 Door Convertible original MSRP $5,905" - JD Power website) I'd actually be happy just to see pictures of an identically-configured 2+2 even if it were a different color, but I've never seen any. There's always something different which is in some way not as nice. My father was mad at my mother for ordering it! But he loved driving it as much as she did.

Gorgeous car! Canadian big Pontiacs were pure Chevrolet except for the body panels, which were styled like U.S. Pontiacs but were designed to fit the Chevy frame. THe color looks like Chevy Island Teal, but the owners would know if that's the case. Very rare!

OK, well that Pontiac is unique for sure! I guess GM started the process of sharing parts from different divisions early in Canada, surely can't go wrong with a chevy 396. My Uncle had a 67 Olds Delmont 88 with the same fastback body style, was a cool car, they were die hard Olds owners who snubbed their noses at chevys. Their next car was a 76 Olds two door, not nearly as cool as the 67. This was around the time when the various GM divisions started sharing engines, my aunt was in an uproar fearing GM had snuck a chevy engine into their Olds. She was relieved to find out they had an Olds engine, they should have kept the 67! Cool car for sure!

Correct. But Canada had a huge blue collar work force and brutal winters. FORD brought out the Meteor line which was sandwiched between the basic entry FORD's and upper level Mercury . High end big engine cars didn't sell well in Canada but by the late 1960's the big blocks were more common but most were imported. I live in the biggest City in canada and I didn't see a Corvette until 1965 ( New) or a Thunderbird until 1966(new) . The Chrysler plant in Windsor only produced the Barracuda from 64-66 , all the Roadrunners and Barracudas after 66 came from the USA while the Roadrunners from Detroit were made at the Lynch rd plant . btw a 1967 Grand Parisienne Sport Sedan came with the Grand Prix front and was a 4 door hrd top with the vinly roof. That would turn heads at the car show with the 4 dr hard top but the Grand Prix front with hide-away light and Turning lens in the fender .

Nah, by the late 60s Canada wasn't very British anymore, if it ever really was. The year before, 1967, we celebrated 100 years as our own country. After WWII and Britain's reduction in world stature we developed much closer ties to the US in just about all ways. You could've travelled in Ontario, for example, and found it hard to spot the differences from the bordering Great Lake states. A visitor from Britain would've sworn they seemed like the same country except maybe for the more reserved manners of Canadians.
