The 2+2 E-Type was introduced in March 1966 for the man who loved his family as much as he loved sports cars. To accommodate for the extra two people, the wheelbase was lengthened by 9 inches, the roof heightened by 2.5 inches, and two more seats were integrated into the back. This resulted in a fantastic E-Type experience for both adults and children alike.
This 1968 Series 1½ 2+2 is a rarer and much preferred manual example. Subject to a full restoration in the late 1990s, this E-Type is in lovely condition and mechanically perfect. A recent trip to the Outer Hebrides without a single fault, and a recent MOT with no advisories show this to be the truth. With 5 previous owners, the car has been very well maintained since restoration with hundreds of receipts, twelve MOTs, and a Jaguar handbook present.
This UK-supplied E-Type is a joy to drive, helped further by the short-shift overdrive 4-speed gearbox. To improve the aesthetics of the car, the original Series 1½ open headlights and ribbed cam covers have been swapped for their Series 1 counterparts; while the original black interior has been adorned with red piping to match the red exterior. Aside from these differences, the E-Type has been finished to original specification, often believed to be the purest E-Type driving experience there can be.
