Steve McQueen "Bullitt" Mustang! One of the most famous car chase scenes of all times was in the movie Bullitt where Steve McQueen raced a 68 Mustang down the streets of San Francisco trying to catch a 68 Charger. The original Mustang sold for 3.74 million dollars in poor shape. This Mustang has only 30 miles on a meticulous ground up restoration as a Bullitt tribute.
EXTERIOR: It was professionally restored. Starting with a coupe it was taken down to a bare shell and most of the metal was replaced new including floors, shock towers and fastback panels. So, there's no rust or damage, it's straight. It has the sprint louvered hood. Painted Highland Green it has a beautiful glossy finish. The trim, chrome and weatherstrips were replaced. New windshield and rear window. It is also rolling on 15 inch Torque Thrust wheels with black tires like the original.
INTERIOR: Completely restored with some custom upgrades. New reclining ProCar bucket seats, the rear fold down sport seat is upholstered to match. All the carpet has been replaced and it has some embroidered mats. The dash area is completely restored and has a beautiful custom steering wheel. Completely custom-made center console has a Ford racing tachometer, 5-speed shifter and a Bullitt insignia. Headliner, door panels, armrests, dash pad have all been replaced. It has a modern Bluetooth stereo with kick panel speakers.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay is painted high gloss highland green. At the center of it is a beautifully decorated high performance 347 stroker motor! The motor was completely rebuilt. On top is an aluminum intake with a 600 dual feed Holley carb and MSD electronic ignition. Every component looks like new. Upgraded aluminum radiator with a custom shroud. Upgraded with a dual reservoir master cylinder.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick. It has new weatherstrip and trunk latch. Inside is all clean metal painted nicely. Original style plaid mat and the access door opens into the interior.
UNDERSIDE: It was flipped on a rotisserie and restored like brand new. The floors are pristine metal painted Highland Green. It has welded in frame connectors to prevent body twist. The front end steering and suspension is all completely new and has an upgraded sway bar. The rear suspension is also new. The entire brake system has been restored. It has 4 piston disc in front, e-brake is hooked up. The 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust has polished stainless pipes and Street Flow mufflers. The fuel system has been replaced including the tank. Looking up at the motor it is very fresh, fuel pump and starter are new. It has been upgraded with a 5-speed transmission. New clutch, flywheel and throw out bearing. Rebuilt drive shaft leads back to a Ford 9-in rear with cruising gears.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and adjusted the clutch cable, recalibrated the speedometer, replaced the turn signal switch, took it in for a front end alignment and replaced the hood springs.
This is a pristine example of one of the most iconic cars!

Love that dark green. I thought it was black at first. Gorgeous!
Now you just need the '68 black Charger to go with it, I just watched Bullitt on the weekend. Thanks Jay!

My favorite mustang dreamcar 😊😊
Tach and its position -- sick.
I love the ford mustang 😀 ❤️ 😄 💙 👍 😊
It started life as a coupe? Wow.
Nice car and great test drive
I had a 68 coupe fully loaded...factory installed Philco am/fm 8 track center SS console, map readers on top console, 302 V8, louvers all over it, courtesy lights everywhere inside...black interior, beige out, tilt wheel, chrome all over....miss it.
Love it. Want it

Here is what I’m hoping. The picture of the tag on the door shows 65A. That’s a hardtop with standard bucket seats. 63A is a fastback. I hope this isn’t a converted hardtop to fastback.

He says in the video it's a hard top converted into a fastback 😂. That wouldn't even be saleable in the UK, nobody would buy it 😂. I reckon they bought it without checking it properly, even the pro's get caught out occasionally 🙄
I’m curious, where did you get those front floor mats?
Nice car! The new guy test driver shifts like a rodeo queen. 😂
I'm absolutely shocked they allow a kid to drive the car like this. I'm sure the future owner will really appreciate it!
All that power and beauty for a one wheel peel… why not some decent gears when you have the 5-speed ? It is gorgeous though…
Jay says 347 stroker , guy driving car says 402 Stroker....which is it??

Looking for a 1965 GTO Pontiac or 1969 GTO JUDGE

Me too, '65 Pontiac GTO, that's my birth year, and the '69 GTO judge, both on my classic car list!
The car has some Bullitt features but it’s far from being calling it a Bullitt tribute
I am absolutely not a restomod fan. Make mine to factory specs thank you
My dad built that car. Sold it to tim harris then tim sold it on ebay. It has a 289 engine. Absolutely not a 347 stroker. Maybe revise your info sir.
Mike said it's a 402 stroker, you said a 347 stroker... which is it?... Nice car

I thot the original engine was a 390?
Why does this car look familiar

I have a website question…. When I look at the “Incoming Inventory”, why does the 2004 MERCEDES-BENZ SL500, STOCK #V21094 always appear? It never seems to “arrive”. Thanks! 👍

Turn it into a coup and then halfway back to a Fastback. Then paint it pink and put some lipstick on the front of it.

I'm sorry, but the stance is all wrong. Oversized tires, jacked up shocks
Really hate to be critical of such a beautiful car, but... manual brakes and steering, looks like drum brakes, lots of flaws inside, ugly console, horrible tac location, no ac. OK, I get that it's a 68, but for $115K, I'd need more modern upgrades. And don't come at me with "rare car" or "keeping it original", it's a sedan converted to a fastback. All that "original" talk is out the window. Oh, did I mention the wheel hop in that test drive launch. I wonder how bad that gets when you really hit it. Still a gorgeous car but couldn't swallow that price tag even though it's obvious a lot of quality manhours went into this build.

A 'chopped' car like that probably wouldnt be saleable in the UK no matter what the price 🙄

Glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed ole one legged Wanda when he got on it. One guys says 347 the other says 402? Good luck on the sale, someone will pick it up.
This cars a Frankenstein.. my 68 390 s code FB radio delete is worth more than this thing.. mine flawless 100 percent original with 38k documented miles.
Beautiful car. But doesn't seem that fast by today's standards. Video says 347 Stroker and guy driving it said 402. Looks like wipers don't rest properly in the park position. Too bad it was not an original Fastback stang to start out with instead of a coupe. It's nice, but very expensive.

Claimed 340 h.p. in a light car. Assuming that’s at the wheels, that’s probably all the power one needs. It is gorgeous.
