real clean example. The 4001 was the prime seller in the area. the 4002 and 4005 were rare because the top was carved and glued against the back plate. Note the carve around the back plate.

Hey just a tip if you ever decide to do more bass vids. You can actually record bass rather easily with a bass DI. You can get them rather cheap nowadays and they basically let you play the raw signal. A lot of bass players use DI signals for recording.

In 19 73 what's playing in a very popular band I had been using a Hofner bass it was stolen and never recovered this bass was unusual it had Deluxe pickups instead of standard one's I Purchased it brand new from the Hofner music store they sold every guitar in the catalog they were the official dealer and since they were made by hand the owner figured those pickups were installed because they had no standard pickups to finish the job so needless to say he was a real bummer because the standard pickups made the bass not have such a booming sound like the one I had. So I became interested in a Rickenbacker Bass which turned out to be a disaster starting to bow the owner Rickenbacker and some of their experts asked us to send the bass see if they can fix it they sent it back they could not meantime the owners of the music store we were dealing with which by the way we were preferred customers since we bought call our gear from them all we had a top people that design built Rickenbacker on the phone ask them if there was any way that we could order a solid body Rickenbacker like the one that John Lennon used because our lead guitarist interested in one and since we had them on the phone we asked them if we could order one a stated to us they had never made a solid body Rick like the one did John Lennon used and that he must have had it customized somewhere in Europe or England that's the only Rickenbacker three quarter scales that they made was a semi hollow-body and that John Lennon more than likely at someone make it look like a solid body and paint it black I just thought that I'd let you guys know because Rickenbacker is very vague on the way this day answer any questions about their guitars thanks for reading my post it's actually really did happen oh and by the way I sold the Rickenbacker Bass someone in Houston and by the time. i think the inlays are made from crushed pearls if im not mistaken.
