1967 Plymouth Belvedere Auction Find. Sorry couldn't get the winning bid on this solid old Mopar.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Went to check out the auction and this 4 Door Mopar was there. It was a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere II more door that was in really solid shape. I really couldn't find any rust on this one outside of the battery tray. The body was pretty straight and interior was all there albeit well worn. Under the hood it was all there with a small block 318. It was also a factory air conditioning and power steering car. I couldn't look in the trunk but I bet it was solid as well. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the winning bid on this one so we can only speculate on what she went for.

Whoa Nelley, 1967 and may soon go to Heaven. ARCO (the maintenance folder on the floor) was Atlantic Richfield Oil Company and was spun off by BP some time ago. ARCO is now owned by Marathon Petroleum of Findlay, OH, which is the same town that Whirlpool has a huge appliance manufacturing facility. They made both my 1987 and 2019 Whirlpool made Kenmore dishwashers, which have both been very good. I only replaced the 1987 machine because the tub rotted out and it wasn't worth fixing. Prior to that, I put maybe $100 into it over 32 years, doing all the repairs myself. We got the VIN, we win: R for Belvedere, H for High price class (Belvedere II), 41 for four door sedan, F for 318 V8 with two barrel, 7 for 1967 model year, 5 for Maywood (Los Angeles) CA assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Maywood facility operated from 1932 to 1971 and was across the street from the Ford Maywood plant. The Chrysler plant was located at 5800 Eastern Ave at Slauson Blvd. We got the tag, we can brag: h-7 for fender mounted turn signal indicators, A-1 for 26" radiator core width, R-1 for two watt AM radio, S-1 for factory installed AC and heater, X-1 for tinted glass, all glass, 1-5 for automatic transmission, 2-9 is a molding code probably indicating chrome upper body moldings, AX-2 for 2.94:1 ratio, non-locking (since there is nothing under the "X"), H1X for Black interior trim, ZZ1 for Gold Metallic exterior paint, UBS of B under "U" is black upper door frame color, RH41 for Belvedere (R), Belvedere II/High price class (H) four door sedan (41), 41 for 318 V8, 5 for automatic transmission, 435 for 7.75x14 white wall tires with "5" meaning that the spare is the same tire as the other four, 125 for January 25, 1967 scheduled production which was a Wednesday, and the last five are the sales order number which has no significance for options. Whoa Nelley, 3-1-8 and might still be great. ARCO and maybe doesn't have to go. Airtemp isn't too bent. Factory AC and that's for me. Painted gold and starting to look kinda old. RH41, and is it done? High price class and hopefully it will get a pass. That might not be it, might not have to quit. Hopefully won't be flat or that will be that. MOPAR needs a person to make it a superstar. Please don't get squished or the UTG, Pentastar faithful and even the Google Man will be pretty pissed.

Evansville Indiana used to have a big Whirlpool plant but I think it is no more. Got caught in traffic there during shift change in 2013 and I always liked the fender mounted turn signal indicators on the window sticker from the 69 Roadrunner they were referred to as a light package along with the map light above the radio I wish I could recall the price of that option 😆

everyone has their own definition of "rust" here in the north we call a car rusty when it's sagging in the middle and about to split in half.. you see that a lot with pick up trucks and frame rot.. down south a car like that might be called rusty.. here in the north we would call a car like that solid.

This particular auction was having issues with people messing with the running vehicles like pulling spark plug wires or disconnecting sensors so that the vehicle would run like crap when brought on the auction block for bidding. This would up the chances of getting a better deal with possibly less people bidding on said vehicle. I can understand that rule on the running vehicles but not for the non running vehicles. I asked and they said the rule applies for all vehicles. I've gotten caught before opening hoods of the non runners and tried to argue but that will only lead to getting banned from the auction

Unfortunately, as Benny noted, people will "borrow" parts and render a potential "runner" a "non-runner" by disabling it, lowering the bidding on it. However, they should allow the hoods to be opened and have security patrolling to make sure that no one does anything nefarious. Who would bid on a car not knowing what's under the hood? What if the VIN says it was a V8 and there's a six under there or something else? LOL.
