1967 Mustang: California Drag 'Stang - /BIG MUSCLE
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In the world of muscle cars there are few as iconic as the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. It's stunning body lines were made famous by Steve McQueen in the movie Bullitt (he drove a '68) and since that time, it has become one of the most sought after muscle cars in existence. This particular car was, is, and will always remain (according to owner Greg Smith) a down home California drag car. From the Fenton slotted wheels and 393 Windsor stroker, to the Mickey Thompson drag slicks out back, one look will tell you that this car is all business.

My grandmother had a 68, gold with a black top, numbers matching with a 302, all black interior. Some of my greatest memories as a kid was doing burnouts and hot rodding with grandma in that car. I really wish that car stayed in the family, and sometimes wonder where it ended up. Great video!!

Either one of y’all having one yet if so im jealous. I bought my 10 year old daughter a 1967 GT coupe... we’re working our butts off on
I'm a proud owner of a 74 Maverick and every time I watch Big Muscle I get even happier... thanks!! So, I'll go behind the wheel of my small block and roll through the gears... hehe...
Here you go! 393 Windsor stroker, 10.6:1 compression, Holley 750 double pumper, Hooker 1.75 inch headers, Performance Automatic C4 transmission, Continental 10 inch converter. Around 500hp at the crank with no nitrous.

What size wheels and tires are on the fastback ?
Love this Mustang! No extra pretty goodies...just all business!!!! The Dude driving....what a dork!
I used to have one of them. 1967 GTA. Hypo 390, 715 Holley, 325 locker, smog exempt. It was even the same golden green metallic. My father drove it for one mile and got into a quite innocent accident. But it was totaled. --And yes, it hauled ass!!
My dad's friend had a '67 convertible when I was growing up, so I have always loved these cars. Thanks for an awesome video! :)
Mike and co. thank you from the bottom of my heart for kicking off this series again. Suffice to say I was giggling like a schoolgirl when this popped up in my feed.
Loved this video, I'm 100% a French hot hatch guy, but I appreciate the old Muscle cars and this one hooks up so well by the look of it and has a great story, nice one Mike.
Great to see you back Mike. Two thumbs up to what you said at 09:18. I couldn't get behind the wheel, but was a passenger in my uncle's Ford 41 Coupe with a 351 Cleveland under the hood and it felt incredible when he jumped on it in third.
Good Job Mike.. So glad you put this car on here I'm 52 now and was 17 When my friend Rick bought this car... It raced a lot @ OCIR in the 70's .. and even Terminal Island in the early 80's... Great Meeting you guys @ Bob's in Burbank the other night... So glad you guys gave this car a lil time..
Awesome! Thanks for a great video and the love you guys put into the shooting
I bought my first truck when thirteen. it has been a farther son thing ever since. its a 1969 ford f100 shortbed stepside. when I bought it it had a tired old 300 six and a three speed on the floor. it blew about 2 years later. then after that I put a 5 speed over drive manual and another hopped up 300 in it. this summer I'm putting in my dream swap, big block 390 bored 3o over with a mild cam and a built c6 with a shift kit. little truck is gonna be one hell of a sleeper and I cannot wait.
I LOVE my 71' Camaro
Car sounds sweet! I'm going to make my 67 more of a track car though... I agree about driving old cars. Sure it's not an easy car to drive. Mine is actually kinda scary above 60mph because of the play in the steering. It is nowhere near as easy to drive as my wife's Jetta but it is way more fun to be in!
I couldn't imagine how tight of a fit that would be fully caged. Slick ride!
Dude i am not american but i am in love with muscle cars just look at them! I love almost every car but muscle cars are something extraordinary this is pure power.
Now you did it, you made me miss my old 67 Mustang coupe. Top loader, Centerforce clutch, headers, Crane cam, nine inch with limited slip, Holley, etc. Someone in Europe is now enjoying it.
Very nice stang, looks like a blast to drive. Nice to see the slots on it. Old school 👍👍
But then again good show and good working getting to all the details. Always entertaining.
LETS GIVE IT UP FOR DRIVE. THE BEST WELL ROUNDED NETWORK ON KZread.
Yes ! Mr Angry is back ! Awesome episode, this new season is going to be amazing ! Cars with scratches and patina are cool !
Cool Mustang. Love these older Stangs over the new cars. Much more personality in them. Same goes for the old Camaros. The stretch of road he is driving on with the white fencing reminds me of the road they used in the scene from Road House were Brad Wesley is driving the red 5.0 Mustang convertible. The swerve scene was filmed outside of Sanger, Ca. on Trimmer Springs Rd.
That Mustang looks and sounds like more fun than the hooker-a-week program at the Bunny Ranch.

Drive just gets better and better!
This is the most outstanding car show ever produced. Great Job Guys. Who the hell needs SPEED, or should I say "FOX SPORTS NET" I don't even have cable. who needs it. Got You Tube. I have been waiting for someone to do a show just like this for ever and it never happened. Till now. Got a loyal watcher, here.
I am very blessed to drive a small block muscle truck... every day. Lowered 77 silverado step. 400 horse to work everyday is a lot of fun.
so glad to see big muscle is back!
Glad to see you back, Mike. Excellent choice in car (out of the park!). Truly kept just right, though I'm with you on the NOS shot. Cheers from Chicago!
A really nice video featuring the same year and color (lime-gold) as ours, the Sniff Bros. We've been drag racing ours for 17 years. 9.91 @ 135 mph all motor.
I'm glad to see Big Muscle back!! Yesssss
Big Muscle is back !!! happpy to see the new Vid ! i love those models ! the eponime of the stangs .
Awesome. I've missed this show.
Nice to have Big Muscle back. Keep at it Mike, you are becoming quite the host.
love the rubber caked on the paint at the back hahahahahha
I wish the 2015 Ford mustang gets all this grunt and looks and the same classic interior with superb road insulation and superb engine noise isolation to cabin and the classy interior with superior built that would rest in the minds of people for the next 50 years, also the new IRS will be a revelation for the Mustang, Mach1 is getting resurrected I hope Ford is doing the rightthing
Enjoyed the video, love me some mustang. Dang, eight years since the last comment.
Musto hit the gym in the off season. Awesome episode!!

Glad the show is back
I've been waiting for another season of big muscle!
This mustang is amazing . Very nice color !
Love the big tire look on muscle cars, hate low profile tires on them.
big muscle is back!! best drive channel
The old mustang is the only muscle car i like-such a wild beauty!!
Keep up the good work, Mike. I'm a Mopar Nut. But if I had a 'Stang - THIS would be it. Awesome work.
don't know a thing about American muscle but this is awesome love cars !
my sub was just POUNDING for the whole duration of this video! lol such a beautiful car!
Great video man!
Thank God Big Muscle is back.
One of the purest exhaust notes, a big Windsor.
It's been such a long time since the last BIG MUSCLE. I missed it.
Because of the raw, visceral experience you get from one of these machines. It's not about finesse or lap times or social status. It's about feeling. Feeling the power, hearing the engine, feeling like you are interacting with the car, not just steering it. You don't feel that connected to modern cars. And you don't have to be American. You just have to have 5 senses.
Keep up the great show, Mike!
Man, Mike, you're finally back. Love the show!
Another great video Mike. We met briefly at the botanical gardens in SF in April. I was the fellow Astorian. Keep up the good work.
If it makes you giggle like a school girl, its got my vote...Man I love your job!!!
my favorite big muscle yet
Long time, no Big Muscle. Much appreciated. :D
Great stuff Mike!
What he said around 10 minutes is very true. I drove a 65 289 the other day and I'm hooked. I drive a BMW right now and I promised myself in a couple years I'm going to get myself a classic mustang.
I could listen to that noise all day!
What a great video. I love what Musto has to say about cars.
I've got a friend of mine that let me drive his 400 plus HP Fox Body... Oh man it was great! Just simple straight line horsepower. I asked him "How do you control yourself with this thing?" I mean if I had it I'd be chirping the tires on every shift and burning them up crab walking sideways down the road at least once a day! He said it takes discipline to own a car like this, you just leave rubber where ever you go... At 49 years old, I'm not old enough for a car like this yet!
Jeez this thing sounds just great.
Missed Big Muscle! Welcome Back!
"The history and significance of these old cars far out shadow any of these boring new cars that really bear no significance at all." - this statement says it all.
that escalated quickly.. lol I love it! :-D
gorgeous!
Same here - this car was outstanding!
That is so awesome
This makes me really miss my 68.
HE'S BACK! :)
Yay your back!!
i was never a big fan of the mustangs, this one did not appear to be very interesting to me when i just look at the preview photo of this video. but as the show goes it just gets more and more attractive and by the end of the video i just love this car. i even pause the video, waited for like 20 mins to finish all my texts and stuff so that i can really enjoy the video from the start to the end. i guess this is the amazing thing about muscle car and the amazing thing about this show.
Finally Big Muscle Returns!
Yay big muscle is back!
I really like the new intro. Thumbs up boys.
i miss this show
This is what I have been waiting for on this show! just got my 68 barracuda fast back on the road today after a long work on interior and needless to say im fucking happy that I get to hear that 360 prr again ;)
Finally BIG MUSCLE is back......... YESSSS!!!
I really do appriciate the passion for cars (hell i spend almost half my money on it), i am way too European to understand this configuration, but as almost... passion before brains ;D Thanks for uploading.
Awesome car!
I love this guy. He is the bomb!
Welcome back, Mike.
That was my first car out of high school, I slapped a Hipo 289 in it and it was a bad ass ride! Unfortunately I had to sell it. But if I could get my hands on another I would in a heart beat.
FINALLY BIG MUSCLE IS ON AGAIN!!! MY FAVE CAR SHOW NEXT TO ROADKILL :)
