1967 Mercury Cougar V8 Interceptor Burnouts & Road Test - Stacey David's Gearz S14 E4
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is the show that people have been waiting for, because it’s finally time to take the mighty V8 Interceptor for a rip down the road! But first, we walk you through everything that went into this massive, ground up build and showcase all the details of building a one-of-a-kind, level 5 project. After that, it’s on to the test drive, that just gets crazier and crazier when a surprise visitor from Mayberry shows up and tries to set us straight! It’s a car like you’ve never seen, with a payoff you could never imagine... and it’s only on Gearz!

Awesome car for sure. The guy who played " Barney", was perfect :)
I really miss the format of the older automotive shows. You're the best Stacey!

I've been waiting a LONG time for this! Absolutely beautiful car, and the build choices couldn't be better. I just wish I could afford to build something similar.

Stacey, that car turned out beautifully. What a BEAST!!! Loved the whole episode!!
Really enjoyed your Don / Mayberry mimications :)
Everything I hoped it would be , years ago . Glad to finally see it finished . Mad respect to you Mr. David. You definitely pulled this one off in spades . As usual.
When I was young, this was a local car we all wanted. Now it is something to dream about. Sweet ride and beautiful work - you hit this one out of the park.
My favorite car is the 67 Cougar! I did have a 68 but never a 67! Still dreaming of that day!
Gearhead central here! Ya gotta love the barney fife thing also.
This is absolutely my dream car… crazy beautiful build with more power than you can ever use. Damn this car is stunning !
That Cougar is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Serious car envy going on here 😍
In my eyes this is your best build I loved watching it go together and yes i seen as first aired

This is the perfect car.
My favorite car build ever! By far! I love this car!
The V8 Interceptor turned out beautiful!
That Cougar is what dreams are made of. 👍😄
Oh Man what a perfect car. Such quality and ideas. The Don Knotts thing is over the top. Greatly done. Man those were really the days. I remember like it was yesterday. Even the one bullet Andy let him have. Just great . THANKS so much
Just saw this Stacy David, Killer cougar for sure, must be a blast to drive.
Haha that’s a great Barney Fife! Cougar looks awesome.
Now thats a cougar!!! It turned out awesome!
My dad had a 69 Cougar Eliminator back when he was in high school and the Navy, he would have loved this build.
No fake drama just some light hearted humour that absolutely contributed to this episode. Im partial to mopars having a 68 Coronet (Superbee) in my garage awaiting upgrades but I’ve owned various brands over the years and love this Cougar project. One more excellent build and inspiration to continue our beloved hobby/culture.
Ha Ha!! That guy was great!! He was perfect! Edit: The car was cool too! LoL!
What a beautiful build. Nice to see this again. I gotta say though, of all the bright and shiny expensive details, the John Kaase engine......man oh man is that the right choice.
The police interaction was a nice touch lol i love to think the the cops just love to see you coming
This is one badass Couger brother.
Comedian Rick Roberts as Barney Fife for this episode.
That cougar took on a whole new attitude . great show ! ! I just burned up my 67 Fairlane 8" rear bearings . I minitub 'd it 6 years ago, now's the time to narrow a new 9" ! ! Yeah bro!!
_I'm so glad people are starting to bring Cougars into the light. I'm a huge fan of Cougar have been for all my life, and I have restored many and sold many throughout the years. She looks just like the two 68s' I had, without the Hitech mods. Jet black on black. She is beautiful! 67, 68, 69s' and some 70s Cougars are the coolest!_
It is nice how you only hint at your sponsers, but lmc has been so good to us gearheads you can bring them up more and I won't be upset
I love watching Stacy David been watching you since your early days on tv when I was a teenager I'm so happy you're still out there doing it!!!!
Awesome build!!!.... but ditch the rear wing, cut 5" off the stacks, and make the sidepipes full length

A absolutely stunning build!
What 😳 😳 a car! Marvelous & stunning 😍
Wow! Wow! Wow! The most beautiful cougar I've ever seen. ;)
never go wrong with a big block
Makes me miss my 68 Cougar XR7, my first car, dark blue with silver blue leather interior and every available option, power windows, power disc brakes, power steering, air conditioner etc, loved that car but traded it for my first muscle car 65 Fairlane Sports Coupe k code Hipo 289, Borg Warner T-10
Can’t talk about the Cougar without mentioning the colossal nuts

@@OfficialStaceyDavid Nicely done Cougar! Those velocity stacks bring back memories of old CC mags I snuck into school and my first CC nats in the late 70s Northridge! Stacks or a 6-71 are like going down the fwywith your middle finger out the window haha .
This turned out so rad and I'm proud to say watching you on t.v. as a kid got me into hotrods and 4x4s I finally am building my 53 Buick special currently im doing a 4link conversion from the old torque tube so I can swap in a newer v8 😎🇺🇸👊🤙
Real nice.
My #1 favorite car of the 60's ❤
Cool episode
Nice car Cougars are sharp. My brother and his daughter work at PRS. Great guitars!
Finally, ive been waiting for this for years now
Beautiful Car. Hilarious episode🤣🤣
I was gonna watch some "adult entertainment" but then this showed up in my feed, and well after hearing that beautiful engine with the muffler bypass i no longer need the adult entertainment!
Would love to see more of this car.

@@OfficialStaceyDavid Nice! Subscribed and will watch for any updates!
That was awesome, I especially enjoyed the tribute to J. Carpenter’s Christine!
That Cougar is Bas A$$ !!!! 👍👍
I love the Barney Fire dude. He sounds good. I like the car also
Kudos to DON KNOTTS ACTOR..! The Mercury division were told to leave the Eliminator in a corner...while the Ford guys got their Talledega and other models too.....but Merc got the shaft....Hmmmm
masterpiece!!
Hey Stacey, When are you bringing the V8 Interceptor to Carlisle All-Ford? If you bring it there I'll try to get the guys in the Aussie Falcon club there.
That actor killed the Barney 5!
LMAO! Love it!
Wow JUST wow that car is a beauty ! with a serious bite.
Nice car ,
Good job at the Barney Fife imitation, but to be authentic., you would need an early Ford Galaxy for a squad car!
Sweet ride.
The nicest cougar ever built.
Is it odd that I’ve always liked the Cougar more than the mustang, I’ve had a 93’ XR7 and an 89’ 5.0LX. Wish I could’ve had the motor and drive train from the mustang and put it into the XR7, but I traded the cougar for the mustang back in my early 20’s
The guy doing the Don Knotts impression was really fun. I enjoyed that
Glad to see it running going down the road 👍 sweet ride. How long do it take to complete?
Can somebody tell me the size and offset of the rear rims on this car? I have a 68 XR7 that's dyeing to know?!?
I have a 69 Fairlane with 59k been sitting for 25 years or more. The original safety flares from Ford were under the back seat !
The cop sounds like tiger king lol
Hey Stacey, why didn't we ever get to see the Hairy Hauler finished??????
Had a 67/69 never forget em!
I've long planned on getting a '67 or '68 Mercury Cougar to restomod... once I win the lottery. I want to update everything that you can't see on the exterior to ride and drive like a modern car. I am self-aware enough to know I couldn't handle 850 horsepower. I'd settle for putting in a new Coyote and live with the 460 HP and 420 lb-ft of torque. The first-gen Cougar has always looked elegant and like nothing else on the road.
i hope you did not disable the cool rear blinker function. i had this same model in high school, wish i could find her again.
Where abouts in Tenn. are you. Maybe you could help me find a good Nova 69 thru 72 , I want to upgrade it with a LSX with automatic and disc brakes all around .
Love the show where can I see full show
Wow... never realized John Kasse was also a comedian/Don Knott impersonator in addition to being Boss 9 builder extrodinare ....
While the ending was somewhat funny, I've seen in real life where a municipality did take a citizen's vehicle, remove the engine and install it in a law enforcement car. The poetic justice is that the officer that was assigned the car wrecked it in less than 3 months.
Have you released the full build of hot rod tow truck yet
A1
Stacey, I know you painted it black- but WHAT black? That’s the perfect color for my project...!
🔥❤️❣️❤️🔥
Knock knock knocking on demons doors 🚪 if not blowing it’s doors off!!! 💨 sweet cougar man!!!
LOL your buddy did a pretty Barney Fife
Personally I like the stance of my cougar your cougar sits too high in the rear end but the car looks great other than it's too high in the rear I've owned quite a few of these 67 + 68 and I love them!!!
I have a 400 hp 351w in my 69 cougar
What liter ?
I wish we could have cut-outs in my state lol
💪👍💯
Needed to make it a fastback conversion....
I was hoping to actually see the car do some action
all that customization and left it key start?
Must be nice have unlimited funds to build a car
Sad to say this but that car is now up for sale. I hope Stacey doesn't get mad for this comment but its sad to see that beautiful car for sale.
I just wish you would do like Powernation/Detroit Muscle and do 'full build' complete a to z videos
Ive owned 3 cougars... this makes me want a fourth.....also, you shoulda installed a guitar amp in the trunk...js
I wonder where this car's at. Probably just parked in the corner of some shop.
