I've owned three, built my first at 12 yrs old. My dad taught me everything. 1968 850 Spyder. Quick it was not, nimble like no other, it's 1500 lbs was a joy to drive, and a visionary car.

FIAT’s best cars have been small ones and Carlo Abarth made them even better. OTR stands for Omologato Turismo Radiale, the latter referring to the hemispherical combustion chamber. A real pocket rocket.

Not really correct with Webers but those originally came with a pair of Solex side draft carbs with a fiberglass air filter housing. I owned 2 of them. One I sold and went back to Italy and one I found in Alabama. Was rusted so bad, I just used for parts. Sold the engine out of it and various Abarth only parts. I still have the rear body panel with the ABARTH 1000 OTR lettering. Both of mine had the deep dish steel wheels with Abarth hub caps. Campy wheels here are a correct option of course and very desirable. By the way, the Radiale motors in race trim did use Weber sidedrafts. Then at the very tail end of development, there were a few with fuel injection.

This Fiat doesn't compare with the newer ones. Red paint, great interior, well cared of. This is a hatchback (3 doors). That funny how the engine is at the back and the trunk is at the front. Unusual. That engine`s sound really is acting as a swinging lightsaber. But on the inside, it`s a normal engine sound on a classic car. I agree when the people on the road get too close. They`re strangers of course, John
