The original Chrysler 225 Slant Six produced around 145 hp (108 kW) at 4,000 rpm and 215 lb⋅ft (292 N⋅m) of torque at 2,800 rpm. Aluminum block 225 Between late model year 1961 and early model year 1963, approximately 52,000 die-cast aluminum RG blocks were produced.....Ans what a sweet car......Thanks Scott and your guest Tony.....Shoe🇺🇸

Absolutely a treat to see! I love the Slant Six! I had a 63 Valiant with the Slant Six in it! I got mine in 1979 from a little old lady who forgot to set her brake in a parking lot one day and it rolled head on into a light pole! I put a front clip on it and a paint job in the original color! Best little go getter I've ever owned! I paid 700 when I bought it and two hundred for the clip and paint! Sold it in 1987 for two thousand! Now I wish I'd kept it!

Great that Tony kept the /6! They are a fantastic engine! I've owned a '78 Dodge Aspen base wagon with the /SuperSix and four speed "overdrive" trans now for over 10 years. Don't ever plan on getting rid of it. It's lots of fun to drive and gets lots of thumbs up when I do.

John h Palmer I have a BIL who had one just like it, if not the Aspen, it was the Volare wagon with slant 6 and 4spd, and it was dark red with the parchment (I think) vinyl interior. Basic, yes, and had lots of miles on it when he had it in the late 80's.

Hi there! Another sweet car you rarely see these days. Sadly the vast majority of Chrysler products in general either were destroyed in wrecks or rotted away from road salt from winter driving in this region. I'd be afraid to drive something like that much. Last week a local restomod '63 Impala was rear-ended by a kid in a Kia that was texting while driving. Kia was toast & the Chevy was bent up but was very much driveable. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to Saturday as always! Take care!

Very nice Barracuda! Dad had a mint condition 69 Barracuda fastback, 318/904 in a dark metallic green with a lighter green interior back in the late 1970s. In 1980, he wanted something else, so he said he would sell it to me for $600, on a payment plan for this teenager! He wanted help one weekend to do the brakes on moms car, but I went out with friends instead & when I came home, the keys to aftermarket hood pin locks didn't fit my keys. He was mad! He sold it to some guy for $1000. Dad died 10 years ago now, but I was going through some of his old paper work and found both the receipt made out to me, and the one for the other guy for the $1000. Lesson learned! Don't tick off your dad if he has a cool car to sell you!

I remember well when these were new cars. A retired policeman neighbor had a red 1967 fastback with a V8 and took me for a ride one day when I was young and impressionable. I couldn't have defined torque after that ride, but I knew what it felt like through seat of the pants. Tony's car is an absolute beauty. The rallye wheels and redline tires really set the car off. Growing up in the USA in the 1960s the V8 was king, and cars with 6 cylinders were typically dismissed with a guffaw. For ease of maintenance, durability, and smoothness, however, there's nothing like an inline six. Tony's car had a nice burble to it and got down the road without issue. It's nice that he didn't soil that sweet slant with a 318 or 340.

Awesome 67 Barracuda! I imagine there are dozens of stories tied up in every detail of the car as it is so well maintained, it would've certainly hurt to witness breakdowns or damages. So glad Tony is keeping the daily driven look making it more approachable almost inviting closer inspection from passersby. Tony knows how to enjoy a classic car by not blowing the bank on a trailer queen instead he maintains the vehicle as is and enjoys nice days in the coolest way.

Just 2 weeks ago a yellow 67 fastback with a slant 6 came up for sale. It was near mint and looked stock for $14,500 near Detroit. People around here drive 75-80 MPH on the interstate so you definitely need an overdrive transmission if traveling on the freeway.

What a treat, indeed! I honestly thought it was resprayed at some point, but the wear marks in the paint don't lie. It's a gorgeous color, too. Not only is it rare to find an actual survivor car that's still this stock and original, it's even rarer that it's still driven by the same owner for decades.

Nice to see a northern Alberta car so original still on the road. I also have a 69 fastback i found that was almost converted into a race car but was abandoned and parked in Grande Prairie on the side of a house. Today i have it on the rotisserie and it will be street driven. I have converted it to B body disc brakes. This winter it will have the DANA 60 style diff installed. It was a 318 bucket seat console automatic car in green but now it will be a 440 + 6 manual car for go to work and shopping duties in all black. I love old cars and own 6 of them. After i finish this one my next restoration is the 1965 convertible 4 speed Mustang i found for a hundred bucks with papers. P.S. I love how Canadians are so laid back and not as loud as our southern brothers and sisters as well as the fact that we are not as paranoid about showing licence plates. Now all that is needed to to send the crime minister on his way and this country will be great again.

Very nice caretaking on that Barracuda. Love the "performance monitor" vacuum gauge, probably my favorite A-body dash cluster of all. Reminds me of the vacuum gauge that was standard on 65 Impala SS cars, that most everybody replaced with a tachometer, but somehow few of the vacuum gauges survive to today. I had one to put in my Biscayne back in the day and never did, and it got lost in a move. Now they go for actual money, so...yeah...

Wow! Glad to see the third owner of this fish still has it, Good on Ya Tony !!. This was my very first Car(being the son of a former Chrysler management Gentleman).I remember going through old photos of when my parents first marrried and they had a 67 273 commando . My father and I got lucky and found one Same color(In/Out) as his 67, as I said I wanted similiar car when I could drive. I was the second owner of this 67 fish when I bought it in 1987 from a gentleman from Suffield Alberta, who sold it to me(39700 miles at the time) and made me promise I would keep it original as I did. I babied her til her ownership was granted to Tony in the spring of 2002. I did not even have a drivers license at the time of purchase as I was only fifteen when I bought the car, I even made my mother who was riding with me back to Edmonton take off her shoes, lol. (She had got into something with them where we picked up the car). Mopar or no Car!!!!. Funny thing tho before my Father past he bought a Honda Sedan and My Mother has driven Honda ever since. This Fish has been an Albertan Car all of its life so far. I still drive Mopar to date.

Love the notch back Barracuda's. The slant is icing on the cake! I had a 72 Satellite Custom with a slant in it and it really didn't do to bad. The part throttle kick-down was a big help too. Thanks to Tony for keeping his car original, like you said its so nice to see original, unrestored cars compared to over the top restorations.

Sweet car! Glad to see the Tower of Power still in it. I have a special place for the base cars. That's what my dad always bought. He said that when he can't steer, stop, or shift for himself he would quit driving. We did end up with a '77 Dodge Aspen wagon (total turd) with 318, auto, PS/PB because the only one with a six on the lot was white and he didn't want white. Manual cars had to be special ordered by that time. Car before that was a '76 AMC Sportabout (red) with base engine, no power, three on the tree. That was special order. Traded it after a year for the Dodge because the new for that year electronic ignition was a problem (CB radio interference caused stalling) and no-one knew how to fix it. Dad bought Ramblers and Fords before.

My Northern Minnesota winter beater in high school (late 80's) was a 68 Plymouth Satellite with the same engine/trans combo. Both my sisters had driven it through school before I got it, and the midwest rust monster was taking its toll. The car was not even 20 years old and it was worn out and rusted. Also, we had curling in gym class in high school. MN is just about as Canadian as you can get and still be in the US. Not sure we ever changed the oil on the green bomb, we just kept adding it. I may have changed the filter a couple of times. I used to ride my BMX bike over the top, and skid down the back window and trunk. Sometimes, on those sub zero winter mornings, the trans didn't want to shift into third, so I would just drive it screaming at highway speeds until it finally made it out of second gear and slammed into third. Good times. Dad sold the car for $35 when the brakes went out and it wasn't worth fixing. The buyer pulled the engine for his Volare, and scrapped the car. Oh well.

Any original MOPAR with the Leaning Tower of Power will never die. But, in an early ‘Cuda? Just magical…!

Thanks for sharing this car with us all. When I look at the side profile, particularly from the rear to front angle, it’s easy to see where the design clues came from for the current Dodge Challenger. Beautiful car !

Wow! What a great car, and a great friend to share the ride! I often make the same comment Scott, back in my high school days (class of 85) you could pick up a dodge dart, or most any late 60's mopar for 500 bucks or less. Those were the days!
