1966 International Scout 800- Sitting since 1980- Will it run?? - Part 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome to this exciting video where I explore the possibility of bringing a 1966 International Scout 800 back to life after sitting untouched for over 40 years! In this episode, I take on the challenge of getting this vintage beauty to start and run again, and I document the process every step of the way.
Join me as I inspect the exterior and interior of the Scout 800, assess its current condition, and determine the extent of the repairs needed to make it roadworthy once more. I'll also share some historical information about this iconic vehicle and its significance in automotive history.
Throughout the video, I'll keep you updated on the progress we make and share my thoughts and predictions about whether this classic SUV will come back to life or not. Will it start on the first try? Will it require extensive repairs? You'll have to watch to find out!
So, sit back, relax, and join me on this exciting journey as I attempt to bring a 1966 International Scout 800 back to life after 40 years of sitting. Don't forget to hit the like button, subscribe to my channel, and share this video with your friends who love classic cars and trucks!

I sat inside brand new Scouts, circa 1970, when i was a kid.S,K, and M Implement Corporation. The mechanic told me not to turn the key to on or start, because i'd run the battery down! The sticker price was about $4500.00

@@DieseledDragon pretty rare I’ve seen 2 in the past 2 years. I’m lookin for the rear seat also price wise might as well find a rear seat out of a jeep or a rear seat from bestop. As for the top I’m not sure on the soft top but my sport top is fiber glass.

Appreciate it. I currently just pulled my father-in-laws 1963 GMC from where it has sat the place since 1970, out of the lineup. My son wants to restore it (just turned driving age) and I am all for it, so now the "fun" begins.

@@GunsAndThe701 nice, they are just as fun to work on as they are to drive. My kids are already making claims for theirs at only 5 and 8 lol. As far as this Scout, its not at the front of the list for when i start making videos again. Im choosing to do a return video on either a 1990 7.3 idi or 70 Suburban, not sure which yet. The Scout will def get done though, it turns out it could be a 1 of 1 Sportop Convertible

Also have a 1963 Scout II. It runs great and a buddy of mine has it at his place. Just needs some minor restoration work, but it's licensed and runs down the road, not the most fuel efficient though, and it has the V8

I've owned a '68 800 and a '69 800A. They were both nothing but piles of rust. They were rusting in show rooms. You would park them in the garage, and you would hear them rusting away. The body mounts finally gave up. No replacements. Went to the scrap yard. Shame! Yours looks to be a two wheel drive version. Useless in my book.
