Vintique Motors is thrilled to present this 1966 Honda CB450 Black Bomber!
Honda introduced the CB450 in 1965 as its first big displacement motorcycle aimed at competing in the North American market against Harley-Davidson, Triumph, and Norton. It features a 444cc parallel twin cylinder engine that produced 43hp and 27 lb. ft. of torque mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
The CB450 had a distinctive chrome-sided fuel tank and shared Honda's 'family' styling found elsewhere on the S90 and CD175. Early models were known as the "Black Bomber" but in Canada it was marketed as the "Hellcat". Equipment includes a two-up seat, a twin leading-shoe front drum brake, twin Keihin carburetors, chrome dual exhausts, and both kick and electric starters.
Chrome wire-spoke 18″ wheels wear older Inoue tires with the three-digit date code ending in a "6". Suspension is from a conventional fork with full-length tube covers as well as a swingarm mounted with dual covered shocks. Braking is from integrated drums at both ends, with the front featuring a twin leading-shoe design.
The bike has known history in Ohio and Michigan with the odometer showing 2,503 miles which are believed to be original. Overall, it is in fantastic, largely original, condition and the sale includes the original tool roll, miscellaneous parts, and one original mirror as currently installed are OEM Honda replacements. In preparation for the sale the oil was changed and the battery was replaced. Don't miss this fantastic Black Bomber!
