Today James and I attempt to get a 1966ish Ford N series running after sitting around for at least 10 years. Will it start? What kind of issues will we encounter? Tune in and see!

My uncle owned a towing service and garage, I spent probably almost every summer there from 74-84, oh the treasures we found in those old cars. And riding the wreckers with my cousin, 73’ Fords both packing 428’s with headers. My uncle Kenny RIP was a race car lover at heart so even his work equipment hauled ass. 👍🇺🇸

I think the poor man's diesel, is actually the smart man's diesel.
Oh wow man, I remember those N series!!! I've always wanted to put one of them high-roof cabs on a pick-up! Those were the predecessors of your Louisville!!! I'm only 0:06 in so far, (and already hit LIKE) but my most vivid memory of an N series was in June or July of 1976 when I was ten years old. I was riding with my Ma in her new Maverick, down I-75 South, from Dayton Ohio to the Lebanon Ohio exit. Somewhere past Centerville, we came upon, and passed, an N series. It was a ten wheel road tractor in construction yellow, with a sleeper which might've even been a Mercury! The sleeper was yellow too. But the thing which really caught my eye was the exhaust stack - he had it behind the sleeper, and in the center! In 1976, if you saw a conventional with the stack behind the sleeper, it was old. And NOBODY had their stack centered in respect to the cab. Also, I believe that the sleeper roof was lower than the cab roof, which I even back then recognized as a fashion faux pas for a conventional tractor. So the truck was towing a lowboy heavy equipment hauler, but I don't remember if there was anything on it... RIP Hank's Truck Pictures - so far the greatest loss to this hobby. Now to watch the video...

@DanEBoyd
2 жыл бұрын
@@Ol2Stroker I think I found a pic of a similar one on google years ago, with the stack in the center even, so it might've been factory. Not finding anything now though. I hope you run across a Two Story Falcon - I'll bet you'd have to have that... Those CL 9000s were nice though. But I think my all-time favorite is still the Astro 95 and Titan 90 - best looking cabover ever, with it's Corvette/Camaro curves - stark contrast to the Crackerbox...
@Ol2Stroker

@robjustlooking8729

We used to call the H series Ford cabovers from the early 60s two story falcons. Fellow around here had one when I was in high school back in the sixties. I believe the boxy W series cabovers came out after the H. A friend had a w series Ford cabover with a blown up 8v-71. We took one out of a wrecked White and put it in the Ford. Him and his brother ran that truck for quite a few years after that.
@DanEBoyd
2 жыл бұрын
@@robjustlooking8729 Yes. There was the H series which was a C series cab on a riser platform to raise it way up, then came the W series which underwent a sort of facelift in the middle of its >10 year production run, and then the great CL 9000s. My eyes love those GM Astros, but I suspect that most drivers would prefer to run the CL 9000. Don't get me wrong, I like the looks of the CL too. Back in the 1960s, Dodge actually used the front 'cab' section of their flat faced A100 van/pickup, perched atop a riser, and sold it as a medium duty truck to compete with the C series and GM's medium duty cabovers.
Well that was fun to watch, are you planning on driving it around. I drove one of them in 1978, it was junk then. ✌️
