Cool truck. Looks like it was at one time a manual transmission though? The autos usually have a bigger brake pedal. Plus I wasn't aware they made 4x4 250s with autos then. I have a similar truck its a 2WD 1966 F250 with a 352 and 4 speed. Painted candy apple red.

I notice it has power brakes and a non OEM master cylinder and carburetor too? Looks similar to the master cylinder I put on mine except mine is still manual drum brakes. Definitely a good upgrade for braking and safety with a single bowl if a line breaks you entirely lose the brakes. Not fun.

The choke lever appears to have been removed? Conversion to automatic choke?

Hey I got a question I have a 1965 one ton Dually and I was thinking about making it a 4x4 the question I got is I want to keep the transmission original it’s a 4 speed manual and I was wondering what transfer case would fit my transmission

4x4’s from that era had the divorced New process 205 gear drive transfer case so it wouldn’t be a hard thing to do but you’d want to find a dually Dana 60 axle from a 77.5-79 F350 to keep it as a 1 ton. Question for you though does yours have 8 bolt wheels are large truck 6 bolt pattern with 16 inch wheels? I had a 1964 F350 that had 6 bolt wheels

Absolutely gorgeous truck, but Ford didn't offer autmatic in f250 4x4 in 66; wrong instrument panel; and, wrong bed. This bed was introduced in the 65's, but Ford discovered very early on in the production run that this bed would crack when truck was subjected to off-roading, so they reverted to the 61-64 bed for 4x4's. Its a published fact. However, doesn't make the truck any less beautiful, or desirable,

A lot of guys on here seem to be missing the point that nothing in the description of this truck indicates that this is a factory 4x4. It is not. You mentioned a few of the obvious discrepancies. (Bed, instrument cluster etc.) But in reality the entire cab of this truck is a dead give away. It's a true 66, 2wd cab. The factory 4x4's in 66, (that I have seen) used the earlier style cab with a recessed step just inside the door. Also, the front fenders would have the larger wheel openings, and the inner fenders are rounded and completely different. In my opinion, the 66 is still the nicest looking pick-up Ford ever made. I still own one.

INTRO IS WAY TOO LONG!
Thats a real truck they dont make those anymore
Not a 4 speed I would be willing to bet it was when it was new
Are those the factory axles under the truck? I have a 1966 f250 I was gonna swap 2004 f350 superduty axles underneath

They gotta be super duty axles the hubs and the disc brakes are a dead give away plus the superduty wheels

Stop the video at 1:16 - You'll see it's a radius arm / coil spring front axle. Certainly some upgrades have been made.
