1966 Datsun 411 w/ Suzuki G13BB Engine Swap - Engine

A short presentation of this engine swap I recently competed. The engine is a 1.3L four cylinder from a 2001 Chevy Metro. It is a backed by a 1987 Suzuki Samurai 5-speed transmission, which bolts directly to the engine without an adapter. All new electrical and plumbing throughout the car.

What radiator did you use on this one?

This is a generic 3-row aluminum radiator built to fit a Mk1 Golf. I love these eBay radiators. The fan rarely ever needs to come on.

What did you use for the thermostat housing? The metro points straight to the firewall.

I blocked off that rear outlet and opened up the front outlet, via a modified intake manifold, to flow the way the G13A does on the Suzuki Samurai. The front outlet passes under the air filter sleeve.

Ernest - I didn't do a full build site for this swap. But there are some pics at this site: community.ratsun.net/topic/69099-my-latest-engine-swap/?p=1369405 These include pics of how I modified the intake, which should help you.

+Orange Claw Hammer nice work and very cool car.I found someone else that has done this swap in a samurai before. There is a little more room than what you had to work with.He said he used a housing off of a Honda. He has since swapped another engine in and supposed to sell me the housing since he can't remember the exact make/model.Thanks for you help though.
