    Nice 66!!! I ❤ C2 Corvettes. I have a restored ‘67 L79 Coupe. It’s a 3-time NCRS top flight car.

This is the one only bettered by the convertible. Raced one at Riverside and other western tracks in the ‘80’s. Tossable, perfectly balanced. A great drive to the track racer. It and the 65 mustang are the ONLY actual factory sport cars. All the rest are ponderous manatees that could not beat the European BMW 3.0’s, minis and Jags of the era. Wanna drive? Start here.

Bottom line, car is worth whatever someone is willing to give you for it!

I passed on a well documented and awarded 1966 Coupe with a 5 year old restoration, number 2 condition in Trophy Blue just last year, M21, L79. Seller wanted 82K. Drove and behaved like a new car. Gorgeous in and out, nicely done. Ended up buying a different 66 Coupe that will forever be a Class 3 since it's been hot rodded. Prices have come down in my estimation. My car drives and behaves like a new car. $65K with protectoplate in the original warranty book, a mountain of paperwork blah blah...except for paint I could turn that car into a class 2 for about 15K. The paintjob is absurdly expensive for a C2, about 15-20K to do it right. Yikes! But that would bring it into the 95K realm and then even if I did it, what would I do with it? I'd never drive it again.

this car was restored by a friend then driven. Was restored to a number 2 but is now probably a 3 can be refreshed pretty easily

@@americandreamgarage3054 Yeah even six months of driving can do that...which means a '65 vette in '66 was a class 3, because we do it better than Chevy did nowadays lol. It's nuts. That's why I'm perfectly happy with my coupe.

Too bad it’s an automatic. Worth a lot less.

Hagerty books shows 66 with automatic is worth 10% less. The author never brings this up. All the auction cars had the much more desirable 4 speed. If I’m in the market, the power glide automatic is a deal breaker. It kills all the fun. One shift and it’s done.

@@mikeodowd100 I would have to agree. I would never buy an automatic C2. I think they are actually worth 20-25% less than a 4 speed car. I also would pass on a base motor car as the author has, because of the power difference and the way a 350/365 is a better looking dressed motor.

You n can put all the bullshit paperwork you want up, but your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay you for it in real cash dollars.
