I had a 65 Comet when in high school. It had a 289 hi-po engine that I added Cobra Kit extras to. Probably pushing between 350 and 375 hp. Love your video! Thanks!....J

Which transmission did your K code comet come with? Mine had a Borg Warner T-10, the factory tag said it was original to the car but I had heard that was an option and that most came with top loaders. Mine was my second car, I traded my first for it, my 68 Mercury Cougar XR7. That car I have since discovered had some very rare options. Power everything, windows, seats, brakes and steering. It had a 302 4v from the factory. Leather interior, full console car with even the overhead console. Dark blue with black vinyl top. Had both of those while I was in high school.

@@kennethchapman9564 Yes I had the same transmission that you did. My car would punish Chevy II's and some of the Chevelles with the exception of the big blocks....J

Sweet ride! I have a '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone with the 289 4 speed . I've owned it since 1975 as the third owner. Mine is nice but yours is simply outstanding and well out of my league. Thanks for sharing your video!

I don't care if its Ford, GM, Chrysler or AMC. If its mid 60s black with red interior, Cragar's, vintage Sun tach, and what looks like Hillborn injection with a manual trans and sounds like that. its definitely right up my alley, whoever built that did a killer job, that thing looks & sounds so freaking mean! 🤨👍

The comets are sick but I love the pre-muscle design. It has a very classic look to it but with some thick back tires it has a very classy muscle feel to it. Absolutely love this car and Will one day spend as much money as possible to get one. Great vid.

Wow, that is one BAD ASS COMET! I owned a "64" Comet Cyclone, 289 hp. Should have never wrecked it. They are worth a small fortune today.

Bad ass rig, brother. I had a stock 65, nuthin fancy or fast. My dad (who had raced successfully, including a Ferrari) bought one before he returned to SE Asia in 69. He let one of his employees take it home one night...BIG mistake. He crashed it and then ditched in in a rice-paddy. True story.

I had a 65 Fairlane K code hardtop a 66 Mercury Cyclone GT Holman Moody edition with 427 four speed and a 67 Fairlane GTA with 428cj which wasn't the original engine but it wasn't stock anyway. I have owned 6 mustangs and a 68 Mercury Cougar XR7 but have always considered myself to be a Fairlane/Comet Cyclone/ Torino guy.

What was that sound at 2:03? A tire rubbing or steering component hitting something? Exhaust hitting something? Just the differential coming out of a tight turn? Very interested in this car but would like to discuss any and all issues. Thanks.

There is no motor, except the starter motor. The big thing that makes go is the engine. Sorry, I’m just being a copy cat, copying some of the nitpickers who get upset when people say motor instead of engine. This one sounds very nice though.

I had a 65 Caliente when I was 16 or 17, I had to sell it after the wiring harness burned up and I couldn't afford to fix it. I'm 50 years old now and can hardly stand to look at one of these beautiful cars without welling up.

Ok, kinda crazy, I don't know this car, the owner, nor am I from the area. However, when you head down the hwy and then make that first left turn, that then comes to a T or goes straight where those trucks are parked, I am %1000 percent sure I've delivered to that location before. Is this in NY? I believe that building was near Rochester, but I've been all over NY so it could have been else where

looks like they are on backwards too usually stacks get higher in rear to aid air flow ,not a fan of the way they look

@@danrowell9452 no they dont, they are typically the same length and if the motor is tilted back then the stacks will also be tilted back.
