Came here from Casey's. Staying because of your content! Fantastic! Maybe fill the water tank to get some weight for traction for getting the clutch to release?

!964-1966 drove one all over Germany (US Army). Very capable, handles mud but the heater isn't the most powerful. Tops out around 50-55 mph. Will haul a load while pulling a heavy trailer.

Great truck! Put it in compound low hold the clutch down while your driving and get on and off the gas a bunch of times. That might break the clutch disc off the flywheel.

Ha, nice to see you playing a with a 'Modern' Dodge. Why so suprised the old T214 would start? I have two of your ones older sisters a 1944 WC51 and 1944 WC 54. Both still going happily. Came over after seeing you with Casey. There will be a chioke, and a hand throttle, the trick is , choke out. Turn three or four times ignition off. Add ignition , as soon as it fires , choke in. If it's a Ball carb you notice a hiccup on acceleartation. The mechanical clutch is very twitchy on the push rod adjustment, so get the manual and set it up.

Love watching old Dodges brought back to life. Get that clutch working you will have a cool little yard truck to run around. Rewiring it shouldn't be that hard. No stupid computer to worry about.

In viet Nam, 1967 my unit had several m37s, I remember loading sandbags up to roof top, driving and tires rubbing fenders, paint burned off fenders.

The paint was Martin Senour 98L-1293 Olive Drab semi gloss. The current PPG paint code is 45813. But considering you're probably not going to a complete cab off restoration, just a good semi-gloss or flat paint should work great and look like most of the surplus vehicles transferred from the GOV to the small gov did when they were delivered.

The M37 was rated as ton and quarter vehicle when I was in the Army in 74 if we had a stuck clutch unofficially we would figure out how far it took to start it and add about 10 feet to that and let it run into a semi moveable target with the clutch depressed. Common thing in cold South Dakota winters. Would let it break loose.

Dam i want that truck(Mashed potatoes] So can you do a complete tear down to frame and restore? Keep what old but worth keeping and up grade stuff for the better.. God if I lived closer I be there every day Like the wheels, love the wheels but split are dangerous and it will need bead locks and power steering, ac and a heater..

I love these old Power Wagons! Great job getting it running! The one part I'm interested in is the big winch on the front. Isn't it hydraulic? How nasty is that thing from sitting for years and years?

If the clutch "stuck" (the clutch plate is stuck to flywheel) Start in gear, drive around with clutch pedal engaged. It will loosen in a short period. You did drive around, but you didn't have the clutch pedal engaged.

What do you think is reasonable for an unrestored one? What did you give for yours? You did something I had not seen before. You dragged the truck to break the gear free. Cool idea. I did not know you could do that. So you only had to repair the clutch, roof, tank and wires?

" Click Bait " its is not a power wagon its a military M37 truck, the power wagon is a civilian truck. I have got a 1951 M37 ex. Spanish military. In the early 1980 they changed the petrol engine to a Santana (Landrover) Cazorla 6 cylinder diesel engine.
