In the early 70's I owned a T110 then a Dominator 99 so knew the attributes of both. One lesson I learned from the Triumph was that clip on bars nearly cost me my life at Yarcombe! Long journey, constant weight on your wrists was lethal!

As the owner of a Norton Dominator 99ss in the '60s I could never understand why anyone would want to ditch the Norton engine in favour of a Triumph engine. My Dommie would more than hold it's own against any Triumph. Also I don't recall any bikes of the era converted to a single racing type seat, where would the girlfriend go?

Not many looked like that at all in the 60s. They would have alloy full length mudguards and the original numberplate and rear light. A few had Cibie concave headlight glass and they usually just turned the gear lever around and cobbled up some footrests to suit. Strange that now people thought they all looked like this one. Rare to find a real Triton as it really was in the 60s with the tappet covers missing to aid engine breathing and the scrapes all along the silencers where riders fell off using Speedmaster tyres.

@mrstupid Triton motorcycles were hybrid motor cycles, mostly built from the 1950s to the 1970s that involved fitting Triumph engines into Norton frames. Both being the only two factors to give the name "Triton". Because no factory offered Triton motorcycles, they were typically privately constructed to the individual taste of the owner. However, some UK dealers offered complete bikes. The bike in the video is a Triton but does not state, nor give the impression of 60's styling.

@@russelljamesmotorcycles7537 It does look very good. I was around these old bikes in the 60s when most looked very messy as not many people had decent tools. I study quite a few Tritons in my area and some do look just right even with some modern parts. There will be one or two at my next club ride over the Moors of Devon this month. I will put a video on if they come along. Certainly many are works of art now. The 60s ,i saw so many parked up outside our local Wimpey bar leaving oil slicks. The railway station car park banned them parking after a few years due to H & S rules. Have a look on my channel in July and see if i catch the Tritons.

@@carlstark6857 Unit engine looks lost in the expanse of the feather bed frame , massive area behind engine with nothing but engine plates . Still think its great build though but its just my personal preference

I have a Triton 1954 Norton featherbed motorcycle with a triumph thruxton 650 twin engine with bigger tyres using the triumph thruxton forks and a few other things. Absolute class.

Very beautiful, but I wonder if there's one Norumph for each Triton - an Atlas engine in a Bonnie frame...
