Bravo, Brent -- so good to see a Reuter featured -- an unfashionable but great brand! Love that shirt! Ctrl-Z, one of the most useful things anybody has EVER taught me (my brother-in-law).

Great video--thanks, Brent! Fun to see an organ with a bold stoplist and an organist like Edwin who really knows--and helped design--his instrument.

The principal chorus on the Great was very nice! The trumpet en chamade was ear piercingly loud! Good tour Brent!

thats a very beautifull instrument. It reverantly treats the notes as they should be so that everything played is sweetness and in harmony and melody.

I recognize Alvez Barkoskie's name. I believe he was based here in central Texas a few years back. Perhaps he will read this and comment.

Fantastic video as always! I would love to have heard the digital voices as well though to hear how they add to (or detract!) from the pipework.

I live just under an hour away, so I've heard, and played this organ a few times both before and after the 2018 revision. As for your wondering about the digital voices, in my opinion, each one is kind of hit or miss. For example, the 32 foot reed, when Daniel Roth came to give a recital, you couldn't even tell there was a 32 foot reed stop on the instrument, and neither could my organist friends from OU, its just so anemic. On the other hand, the Open Wood, just absolutely shakes the whole building. But overall, I personally think the digital voices blend pretty successfully with the actual pipe stops.

@@noahpierson4810 Thanks for that! This is the basis for my question as to why the digital stops be excluded from the demonstration. I appreciate that the pipes are the heart of the organ, but to hear the instrument in its entirety would be fantastic, even if it means pointing out the deficiencies and failings in general. I feel it would be beneficial to any organist, church or institution looking to augment their organ with digital stops to have a genuine review &/or demonstration of what has been included. After all, every organ demonstration on KZread is effectively a critique of the instrument being played.

I wish that there was a bit more playing on the various stops than just chopping at a few chords right in the middle of the keyboard to give a better sense of color along the compass.

The audio was good for the organ itself, but if you have the opportunity to either upgrade the microphone or take classes on recording audio perhaps you should. I had to keep adjusting the volume level on my computer in spite of using digital out to my surround sound system in order to tell what you were saying.

I hear a wobble in the sound, does the organ have a tremulant?

Typical 1960s style neo broken voicing. Top heavy, over articulate, no warmth or blend. Very Joe Whiteford.
