I simply love the Corvair. I was a car-aholic 12 year old when they were introduced. A family friend traded a drop dead georgeous gold '59 Impala rag top in on a '61 Corvair 500 Club Coupe. I had the opportunity to ask him about the Corvair in the late 1990s, shortly before his death. He told me hands down the Corvair was the most reliable, dependable and fun to drive car he ever owned. My problem is I drool over gen 1 Corvairs until I see a gen 2 Corvair. Then I drool over the gen 2 until I see a gen 1. It's a never ending cycle. It's been going on since I was 12.😅 To me the 1965-1969 Corvair coupe is the cleanest styled car of the 1960s.

Thanks for showing this very solid example of a 1963 Monza Coupe, & not to detract anything from this beautiful survivor ; These were the the 2nd best selling year models out of all the produced Corvair Monza Coupes; From 1960 thru 1969. 1962 models outsold these with a production of 151,738 , Compared to 1963 with a total of 129,544 . These numbers are for sales of Monza Coupes alone.

Learned to drive in the early eighties in a '63 Corvair Monza 900 convertible, my grandmother's car. 2 speed auto. What a great car. I miss it!

Beautiful car! And much more interesting than the conventional Nova that replaced it.

I bought a '63 Corvair Monza sedan from John last autumn. It's perfect in every way. A bit of a warning, however: you won't be able to get through more than a couple of intersections before you're stopped for a conversation. Everybody loves 'em!

Didn't you mean to say 1969 as the last year of manufacture ?

I doubt original cars were equipped from the factory with temporary battery cable ends.

At 9:19, ground cable connection clearly has a temporary cable end.
