1962 Toyota Stout Custom Truck Built by Steve Strope's Pure Vision Design

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Steve is one of my favorite builders in the world and one of my closest friends. This little Toyota Stout he built is such a cool truck. Simple. Close to original but better. Better by a long shot including increasing the horsepower 30% from 60 to 80 hp!!
Enjoy!

My dad bought one same colour and year in 1962. Was our farm Ute in South Australian for nearly 40 years. I learned to drive in it in the 80s. It’s indestructible, dad rolled it over once and the only part damaged was the stock crate bolted to the back. I sent this video to dad, maybe he will be inspired to restore his. 🇦🇺

This is why. All the extra touches, the extra attention, all the going the extra mile to give the customer the vehicle that they dreamt about.... THIS is why a build can and many times costs FAR more than the owner could ever get if they were to sell said dream!! Its not about the money, its all about the dream. I love this build.

Best looking truck ever built, I had one lined up in Miami at a dealership a few years back. a 1966 Stout the salesman said it was the cleanest one in the country, ( maybe it's the one they bought as a parts truck) being a long trip of 400 miles he offered to let me stay at his house for the night before driving it home. It was super clean and only $4500 back in 2010 or so. Having never heard of one I was too reluctant thinking I'd never find parts if it broke down. Sure I always kind of wished I made the trip, but yet I never had the headache of trying to fix something no parts were available for either, bitter sweet I suppose still like their blinkers sitting on top the fenders. What a beautiful design. Other car manufactures bring back retro challengers, mustangs and Camaros, why can't Toyota bring something like this back or even an fj40.
