first of all, i kinda wish I'll do something like this in the future... my first dream was skateboarding, but cars I really love since day one, like literally, my first word was "car", just in my language, cause i'm from switzerland. 2nd, i still regret that i didn't buy the johan 62 super 88 olds kit, which was offered here in switzerland for 100.-. unfortunately i noticed how rare that one is, after someone else buid it... crazy how early oldsmobile did the most stylish car. 1962 with that timeless style is kinda way before it's time. thanks for share. stunning paint job. almost too glossy, im not sure ive seen such a clear coat yet. damn.

One of the prettiest interiors I've ever seen. Late 60s had the sexiest bodies but early 60s built the best interiors.

You spoke my mind for me. When it comes to automobiles I was absolutely born in the wrong era. I see cars like this and I become captivated in every detail. I’m a Chevy man but when I was a kid one of my dads friends had a green and white 56 Victoria. It was like watching a dream drive up and down the street. A few years later while spending the night act my cousins house their neighbor had a1964 impala. At that very moment that become the most beautiful automobile in the world (to me). It was white with red interior. No rims. No tvs. No sound system… it was jus as is. That was almost 30 years ago.

@@Deetruckin Ya GM family. Grandpa always had a 90 Lesabre Limited. And my first car was a 90 Lincoln Mark VII. 15 yr old car. Modern cars but still old school enough to have pinstripes and chrome trim and wood. So ya everything now just boring. Gotta go old school.

Absolutely stunning 62 Starfire .... I think one of the sharpest Oldsmobiles ever built. In my junior H.S. years, one of our teachers had just purchased a 62 Starfire this color ... His was a hardtop. I thought at the time, the sharpest cars I had ever seen ... This convertible is sharper yet. Well done, and congrats on another beautiful find, and for this cars age and professional restoration, extremely well priced. This car is as good as gone!

I had the 1962 98 ! As a kid i knew it was special. I could wax it forever. One thing about that rouchester 4 barrel, it knew where every gas station was. The engine in an olds always had rockets. It required hi test.😊

I had a 1962 Starfire. I think it was 340 horsepower. I bought it in 1974 for $110. It was a oil burner, but very fast. It uses premium gas. Mine was a 2 door hard top.

Hi Jay, You displayed another great video. To clarify the horse power rating, it`s 345. The transmission is a four speed and not a three speed as mentioned. They installed the three speed transmissions from 1964 on, naming them the turbo 400. This is one of the finest cars GM ever built, no question. Good luck with the sale. This one should sell quickly. Take care and all the best. Brian

I owned one of these in 1966. Paid $1200.00 for it at that time, and it was still like new then! Mine was metallic burgundy inside and out. It had the rare option AM-FM Delco Stereo Radio and speakers, with Vibrasonic device on the radio which provided an echo chamber for the radio sound. Mine also had AC, Autronic Eye headlamp dimmer, and Cruise Control. I traded it in for a new 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado in gold with black interior.

"Oldsmobile's competitor to the Ford Thunderbird, the Starfire was a classy and refined luxury car with a simply stunning design. While later generations became rather lackluster, and earlier ones aren't that outstanding, the '61-'66 generation is a prime example of vintage American cars at their finest. The aviation inspiration may be evident from the sleek design and tail fins, but the name is a direct reference to the F-94 Starfire fighter jet which saw service with the US Air Force through the 1950s - when the first generation was released."

The Pontiac Grand Prix was comparable to the Olds Starfire . My father and I test drove a '64 Grand Prix with power " everything ! " Big 389 V-8 , with the 3 speed Rotomatic transmission . Nice road car but those Olds and Pontiacs do consume a lot of premium gas . Oh well , Happy Motoring ! 14:35

single brake booster, single line master cylinder--i had one of these in the 60ties,hard top--broke a brake line while coming up to a busy intersection in socal--the parking brake slowed me down some, went thru the intersection on red light missing all traffic making a left turn, the parking brake had overheated and could not stop me so i ran it against the curb to stop the car--my buddy picked it up with a tow truck--one of the lines to the wheel ends had broke--now days cars have double brake lines in case of failure, at the master cylinder --dont know if you can adapt this to double brake lines from the master cylinder
