Why are using the lift at jack stand height? Just curious

I don’t want to pick the car up by the rockers no more then I have to. If I pick the car up under the trailing arms then the rearend tucks so high up in there it’s a pain to work on. It’s impossible to get tires off as well. It’s easier to lay down real quick to pull pads then it is to lift the car by rocker, pull wheels and tires, sit car down on jack stands, move arms to trailing arms, then pick back up. Then reverse when it’s time to put the tires on. No option to go to the frame on this wagon. It’s a X frame and people seem to forget that. Hope this helps, I see a few comments about it. Pinning yours to help spread the knowledge. Thanks for watching and the support!

X frames are narrow and funky to lift on a 2 post lift. Lifting body-on-frame vehicles by the rockers is sketchy because the rockers aren't structural like unibody vehicles. And with an older vehicle with maybe some rust here and there, you could crush the rockers pretty easily. So you do what you can with what you got 😅

To set the pointer (held on with the single screw) only after holding the T-slide/guide against a square by itself first - and then lock it at 90° against a square. When you know it is 90°, then adjust the pointer to 0°. Then you can use it to square the table slot to the belt surface.

❤️❤️ hey Puddin!! I worked for a glass shop for years and a old timer showed me if you use vinegar and new razor blades will clean the window stains. If you think about it, its acid rain drops that stained the glass. You need something that’s a little acidic stronger to cut the stain. Sometimes lemons will work w a razor blade. Then when it’s all done and clean you’ll need to polish and seal the glass when clean. Rain-x works good for that too! ❤🙏🏻 Hope this helps

Puddin should hook up a Big 3 cable system on the 61 where you run a big OFC cable from your positive on your battery to the stud on the alternator and run some more grounds and your car will charge better and get probably a better running motor.

For those windows, take a look in to 3M glass polishing compound and pads, basically extra fine scotchbrite pads for the DA and a very fine gritty compound to buff it out. It's possible for really old stains to actually etch in to the glass so if the buff job won't do it, you might be up a creek.

There is a water spot remover for glass the detail supplier gets us at the shop. It is a fairly strong acid and stiff scrubber. Gotta be careful with it. Use in small areas and neutralize it within a couple minutes. It works amazing, but it can etch the glass if you let it sit too long.

Inner brake pad should have had a stabelizing spring clip, and you need to hammer the ears on the outboard brake pads to keep them tight in the caliper. Have Slick stomp the pedal and use a scredriver to pry the lower part of the pad tight against the caliper and give the ears on the pad some love taps. And stick a thin shim under that starter

Puddin one of my all time favorite cars was a 1961Chevrolet Brookwood 9 passenger station wagon. It came with a tired old 283 engine that I nursed along for a year or so until it simply refused to run due to utterly worn out rings. It just had little to no compression. The car was a 3 on the tree with very worn out shift linkage. I yanked the engine out and gave it a full rebuild. A buddy of mine had a thoroughly smashed up 65 GTO and I had another buddy with a GTO body with no Differential. I did some horse trading with both guys and ended up with the M21 transmission out if one of the GTO's which I promptly installed in my station wagon. It was a direct install with no mods except I put a Hurst shifter on the trans. You wouldn't believe all of the commentary I got from that 4 Speed trans. This was back in the 70's when mods like that were very unusual. Naturally the new engine had a Duntov 30/30 can with solid lifters, Rams Horn exhaust with true duals all the way back. By the time I had that car fully back together it was starting to get pretty quick. I would be driving that car today if I hadn't had a bit of an accident. I was driving down a highway headed into Minneapolis when the gas tank literally fell out of the car. This was Minnesota where they salt the roads and the gas tank strap let go and I was suddenly towing my gas tank behind the car. That was it for me. A buddy of mine had a well worn 65 Chevelle which I bought for $100. and I transferred all of the goodies I had installed in the wagon, into the Chevelle. The Chevelle was about 1000 lbs lighter than the wagon so I ended up with a pretty quick Chevelle. Thanks for the entertaining videos! Bill

G'day mate, I have been unboxing heavy things for over 40 years. Here is a tip. Turn the box over, undo the bottom, turn the box back over and lift the cardboard box off the item rather than lifting the heavy object out of the box. I love your vids, you are a legend.

Window cleaner: you need a mild acid. My dad always made a mild solution of "cream of tartar" found in the spice aisle. Used newspaper in place of paper towels. It's just a simple acid, used sometimes in baking, mixed a little stronger than vinegar.

A great glass cleaner used in glass plate photography is 1/3 water, 1/3 rubbing alcohol, and 1/3 powdered chalk, calcium carbonate. You could probably sub barkeepers friend for the chalk. Mix it up it lasts forever. Scrub it on, let dry, buff it away. Don't think it'll help that window though!

Puddin! Square the sliding fence to itself first fence to rail. Then square table with sanding surface using the sliding fence. Reason being is the Groove in the table needs to be parallel to sanding surface or as you slide along the groove it will be off. Your right to ignore the marks on the fence unless you can adjust the pointer to 0 after you get it square. Not all cab do that

The clip of Bill and you is too funny. The look in your eyes, the looks you give each other and Bills comment at the end makes me laugh so hard.

I would try: cerium oxide glass polish, works great to make glass as new! Just need a felt pad on a drill and some water! Hope that helps

Nice job on the dual snorkel air cleaner. It gives a clean "factory" performance look. Extra credit points for holding out untill you had a second matching snorkle. It was worth the wait!
