Real glass bottles and jars. So much more attractive and practical than plastic. Endlessly recyclable, chemically inert thus being incapable of altering the flavor of food and easily repurposed for storage of something else when the original product is gone.

Those fridges were for rich people back then. I never saw one in person. We had just a regular fridge cuz we weren't rich. I've never seen so much food in all my life! I've never had that much food in a fridge before. Who can afford it? But, back then, we were paid low wages and the food was low cost. I recall buying a pound of bacon for 29 cents on sale and 49 cents regular price. Of course, factory workers brought home only $62 wk. So, prices were lower.

That fridge at 0:04 is overly stocked unless it’s in a crowded home containing 15+ children who enjoy vegetables or a college fraternity specializing in a team of wrestlers. What I’m saying is, is that the fresh food will go bad unless it’s consumed within a few days.

@@Gembappe In this particular case of refrigerators and AC´s, the main thing that happened was that Hoechst´s patent on Freon ran out and CFC´s got banned worldwide via the UN. That changed the landscape worldwide in favour for Hoechst, which had an alternative refrigerant available. What a coincidence. This was a pure act of corruption by the UN, based on shoddy science and the Ozone-hole scare. So everybody was forced to develop new cooling systems in a global scam for profit and with the UN enableing it globally just like they do it today again with the CO2-scare.
